  • Absolute blast

"What a lovely, lovely stay. Six adults, two large dogs, three kitties and a whole lot of fun! Warren was the most gracious host! He left flowers, wine and cheese for us at the property and of course Ben & Jerry ice-cream! He was also very friendly and flexible during our booking process, answering all questions patiently, adjusting to our requirements and allowing the cats to come and stay! He was also very helpful and promptly came over when a fuse blew out the lights and the space heater, and later swung by with his aunt to party with us (although just for a little bit). He loves dogs so our pups welcomed him excitedly! This is a very pretty location right on the lake and we had an absolute blast. We cooked a LOT of food, saw a LOT of Amazon and Netflix tv, and played a LOT in the snow. The deck with the propane grill was a super-hit and well utilized by both humans and dogs. The dogs especially had boisterous fun, running around leash free in the snow and even swimming in the lake although it was in the twenties with wind chill. The house had ample space, a roaring fireplace and enough sleeping areas for the whole party. The only drawback was that the central heating wasn't up and running at the time of our stay, so we had to make do with the fireplace and another heater. Upstairs was nice but the ground floor was freezing the day before we left, with gale level lake winds and very cold temperature. But we had so much fun sitting around the fireplace and bundling up in layers of quilts, that I cannot but give this place a 5 star!"

  • Beautiful home in a charming village!

"My family and I (and our 2 dogs) stayed at this beautiful home for a week's ski vacation in early March. I will say up front that my husband and I are quite particular about cleanliness and decor, and while we have rented a large number of properties in the past, this is one of the few houses that everyone in our family would return to in a heartbeat! The owners were so easy to work with -- extremely prompt, attentive, and flexible throughout our entire stay -- and very generous with the amenities in their home. The pictures and descriptions on the website are completely accurate, and the quality of the furnishings, beds, linens, and kitchen accessories is excellent. We felt like we were staying in our own little private inn, rather than a generic rental property. Personal touches are everywhere, and we enjoyed the three-floor layout, as everyone (most especially our two teens) had some space that they could claim for themselves. The location of the property is another big asset. It is tucked away in a small, quiet condo complex, but it lies immediately off of the main road, in the heart of the village. A well-stocked market is next door and a satisfying sampling of restaurants and stores are all within a minute's walk. Our teens loved snowboarding at Stowe on their own, and my husband and I enjoyed walking our dogs along the recreation path and lingering over lunch. It was the perfect blend of "active relaxation." On a larger note, we've been visiting different ski regions for a number of years now (ie..Killington, Sugarbush, Okemo, Bretton Woods, Stratton), and this last vacation -- with the slopes of Stowe, the restaurants and beauty of the village, and the quality of this rental house -- has offered the best combination, by far. We will definitely return!"

  • Fantastic House

"I just came back from spending 4 nights at this incredible house. There were 14 of us on a ski vacation to Pico, 4 families with our young adult children in there 20's. Upon arrival I was so happy to see a beautiful house with beautiful snow covered property. Inside the house was spotless and huge! Everything you need is there from spices to extra linens and lots of extra towels. The pictures on the website are spot on but the house is even lovelier in person. There are two refrigerators, one upstairs, one downstairs which was great because we made our dinners ahead of time so we were free after skiing to relax by the cozy fireplace or wood stove. James is the local manager and he couldn't be nicer, there for anything you may need. Joan is the owner and is terrific in her correspondence, always getting back to me quickly and effeciently, never minding any questions I had. We skied Pico which we have been to before and LOVE. Conditions were fantastic and there never seems to be a long line. I love the people there. The best part is, that the house is about 6 minutes away! I would go back to this house in a minute and I hope I get the chance to. Do not hesitate to stay here!"

  • warm cozy great location.

"we where 5 adults and 4 kids. 2,4, 8 and 12 yr old. Owner was awesome and communicated excellently. Very slight hiccup in the beginning but John was all over it. Thanks John yes it can be tricky to find especially when we arrived. It was getting dark out and Snow was so high. Get there while you still have day light or have a updated gps. We used our phone and it lead us right to the door. Highly recommend you travel with vehicle that have proper tires. It snowed everyday when we where there. 5-10 mins away from mount snow. It's close to the bus route that goes around town. Close to shops and town market. kitchen was sufficient 2 and a half bath awesome. one night it was -40° but we where all very cozy. Hot tub felt great at the end of the day. A little small but we all didn't jump in at the same time. Looking forward to renting again next season."
