  • Awesome Mountain Retreat Among the Trees

"We were four retired teachers looking for a retreat to watch the fall color. The Duck and Dog did not disappoint! The home is just as it looks in the photos! Everything is provided, and the owners were so accommodating. They sent us detailed directions to the house, as well as, an information list about the home and where grocery stores were located. We found our beds fresh and the bathrooms and kitchen sparkling and exceptionally well equipped. There was never a wait for showers with the instant hot water. We have stayed in VRBOs before where we have had to clean the house and wash all the dishes and utensils before feeling like we could enjoy our stay! Definitely not the case here...not even a dog hair or duck feather! We spent a wonderful week in Sept/Oct watching the trees change from our first day to our last. What beauty! We had gorgeous weather during the days for our forays into the surrounding towns and cool evenings when we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and the indoor pellet stoves...nice and cozy. We hiked, photographed, discovered lovely shops in friendly towns, took panoramic drives through the Green Mountains, and took in a performance at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. More than anything, the relaxing, peaceful setting of this home among the trees, made our Vermont get-away an awesome a success."

  • Good Ski Place to Stay

"This condo is very close to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas - even Stowe would be an easy day trip. The condo is very comfortable - it was below 0 every night we were there (-20 one night), but the gas heater kept the whole place toasty. The kitchen is fully equipped and all the appliances worked well. One minor quibble - the water in the downstairs bathroom is hooked up backwards - you have to turn the faucet to Cold to get hot water - very important if you take a shower down there! We would not hesitate to go there again."

  • 5 STAR Farmhouse and Hostess”

"My party of 16 people stayed in the farmhouse over this winter weekend for some local skiing at Smuggler's Notch, and this farmhouse was everything we expected and MORE! Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and plenty of entertainment to keep your whole group occupied- from game boards to pool tables to foosball. After all that fun, we were able to start up a beautiful fire outside for some smores and group bonding. Like I said before, this house is AMAZING! Lastly, I appreciated how Angela quickly responded to my questions and requests so quickly and with genuine care for ensure we have everything we needed prior to heading to the farmhouse. I definitely recommend you book this property for your next group ski trip."

  • We Never Grew Tired of the View!

"August 2014: We love The Ridge (have rented in the community a few times before) for the views, the quiet, and the space flexibility. This is our first time with this unit and the property headline is very accurate. Because this is an end unit, and particularly due to its siting in relation to the next group of units, it offers an exceptionally broad view as well as the extra natural light. The property is very clean, nicely furnished and very well stocked (pots & pans, cooking utensils, serving pieces, plates & silverware, and sheets and towels), reflecting that the unit is not a full time rental. We are a small family with one 10 year old daughter who occasionally had a friend visit. There was also a third bedroom with its own bath for the occasions when we had a couple visit for the weekend or for a few days. Although the unit isn't exceptionally large in square footage, there was plenty of space for all. The main floor living/dining/kitchen areas feel spacious due to the high ceilings. There are plenty of instructions in the unit about how things work and things to do in the area. The owners are very accessible, helpful, and accommodating. The Ridge has a quiet pool with a view as well. It's a nice feature for families as children (and adults) like to use it in between doing other activities or for quiet relaxation."
