  • Remote but near the activities

"My wife, 2 year old yellow lab and I settled into this cabin for a week at the beginning of a nine week road trip. It was a great place to start. It had everything we needed, we usually do lunch out and dinner at the cabin. And this worked well here. It is remote --- no neighbors you can see or hear -- but just up the hill from the main streets in Quechee. It is less than a mile from the gorge. The management company (Thanks Mike) was very responsive to the one or two issues we had and took care of them quickly and efficently. We recommend this for almost anyone, but if you have difficulty with stairs or small hills, you might want to look elsewhere as the main living area is on the second level. We hope the rest of the VRBO properties we will be staying are as nice."

  • We Never Grew Tired of the View!

"August 2014: We love The Ridge (have rented in the community a few times before) for the views, the quiet, and the space flexibility. This is our first time with this unit and the property headline is very accurate. Because this is an end unit, and particularly due to its siting in relation to the next group of units, it offers an exceptionally broad view as well as the extra natural light. The property is very clean, nicely furnished and very well stocked (pots & pans, cooking utensils, serving pieces, plates & silverware, and sheets and towels), reflecting that the unit is not a full time rental. We are a small family with one 10 year old daughter who occasionally had a friend visit. There was also a third bedroom with its own bath for the occasions when we had a couple visit for the weekend or for a few days. Although the unit isn't exceptionally large in square footage, there was plenty of space for all. The main floor living/dining/kitchen areas feel spacious due to the high ceilings. There are plenty of instructions in the unit about how things work and things to do in the area. The owners are very accessible, helpful, and accommodating. The Ridge has a quiet pool with a view as well. It's a nice feature for families as children (and adults) like to use it in between doing other activities or for quiet relaxation."

  • Neat and clean and exactly as advertised

"This home was in the perfect location for the event we were attending. We loved that it had two bedrooms with kingsize beds and two bedrooms with queen size beds, perfect for four couples. Also, having three bathrooms was a plus. It was neat and clean and exactly as we were told it would be. The kitchen and dining area were large enough for our crew for breakfast and one evening meal. On the first night we ate at Simon Pearce's Restaurant, it was outstanding. Two things I will comment on. Some of us like to read before retiring. The light in some of the bedrooms was not the best for this. Also, we never know what the coffee situation will be like when we rent a place such as this. There was a coffee pot there, but we forgot to bring coffee. Could I recommend a keurig? We have found that several places are now providing them. It would be easy and if it is advertised, renters could just be sure to bring their on k cups. We ended up just going to a dunkin' donuts for coffee. Overall wonderful weekend."

  • There aren't enough stars for this property!!!

"My entire family just returned from spending Christmas in Quechee at the most amazing rental house you could ever hope to find. This spectacular farmhouse is absolutely made for large family gatherings. The kitchen is huge and has gorgeous granite countertops. The ambiance of the room’s design kept drawing all of us in, not just to eat, but to play games, tell stories, etc. We also found ourselves congregating in the large living room, cozying up to a crackling fire. The owner spared nothing when selecting her furniture. It is all so comfortable, we would find ourselves occasionally nodding off to la-la-land. The layout of the house is very open and spacious, with spectacular views from every room. Even with a large family, we never found ourselves on top of one another. There were so many rooms to enjoy. The bedrooms are all very different, but very roomy and cozy. Our two grandchildren LOVED their large room and slept in two built-in beds under the eaves with a sliding window in between so they could talk to one another. Curtains closed off both beds, which added to the fun. The game room was a huge hit for everyone. The ping pong table, pool table and air hockey were our favorites. The hot tub was also very popular with some. And we loved having access to a washer and dryer. The large dining room has a beautiful antique table that easily fit everyone in our family. Having three generations eating dinner together by candlelight on Christmas Day made this mother’s heart overflow with gratitude. There is nothing the owner hasn’t thought of when it comes to a beautifully furnished, large and welcoming home. And it was immaculately clean. I felt as if it was hugging us when we arrived, especially when we read a lovely note from Jen in a basket with little gifts for everyone --- even for a new grandchild due this month. The dogs had their own fenced-in yard. There was downhill skiing nearby, sledding, and cross-country skiing. In the warmer months there is tennis on the property, a phenomenal long porch that would fit a gang, a pond, golf and a pool across the road... Thank you so much for EVERYTHING, Jen! You couldn’t have been nicer to work with and we absolutely love, love, LOVE your farmhouse!"
