Recent Sugarbush, Mad River Glen reviews

  • Great rental and skiing

"We rented this place with other family for skiing on Christmas week. It was beautiful, clean and spacious. Nice open kitchen/dining/living room concept on the main level. Everything is new and clean. Kitchen is well stocked; Great location. Close to Sugarbush, Waitsfield Village. A shuttle service to a Shugarbush main lodge comes every 30 minutes and is very convenient for family skiers."

  • wonderful Vermont setting

"We stayed here for about ten days during the summer. A lovely cottage and Pat and Scott are equally so! The cottage is just the right size for a couple and with an extra bedroom so we had friends stay for the weekend. We had a great time hiking, cooking, and making day trips around Vermont. The cottage is much closer to the main house than expected, but even so, it feels like the cottage is your own home. A beautiful place to stay and I highly recommend it for anyone who can amuse themselves and are looking for a little R&R."

  • Great place for a family vacation!

"This is a FANTASTC place to stay, especially if you have a large group of folks. The house itself is very well maintained, with plenty of living and sleeping space. Beds were comfortable in all 5 bedrooms, and the owner provides plenty of towels and linens for everyone. There are 2 full baths, one on each floor, and as is typical for an older home it helps to stagger showers, but this wasn't a problem for us. We stayed here last week of December 2014 with our family (6 people) and another family (3 people) and did not feel cramped at all. Dining area seats 10 easily and 12 without much problem; owner provides several folding chairs in the laundry room as needed for additional guests. Laundry room also doubles as an entry way/boot room, to avoid tracking snow and mud into the house, and it held 8 sets of ski boot and 8 regular boots with room to spare. There is room for at least 3 cars in the driveway, we never tried to get a 4th car in but it might be possible. The kitchen is very well equipped (pots, pans, other cooking essentials, full serving for 12+), and the owner also has the kitchen stocked with many staples that you are free to use and replenish (sugar, oil, vinegar, spices, coffee, etc.); this was critical for us as we arrived on Christmas eve and couldn't do a lot of shopping before all the stores closed, and of course we forgot a few key items. The living room has comfortable couches and chairs, and the owner has a number of board games and puzzles for younger kids in the event the snow isn't falling, as well as wifi and cable TV. There is a wood stove for those that know how to use it, and a stereo (though must everyone had their own ipod and headphones, not sure we ever even tried it). The location is great for skiers: on route 17 a few miles east of Mad River Glen, close to Sugarbush as well (though we only skied MRG while we were there), and <10 minutes from Waitsfield. The owner is friendly and very easy to work with. I would absolutely stay here again."

  • Autumn Wedding in Vermont

"Perfect home for our family while attending a wedding at Mt. Ellen. Couldn't have had a better time. The home was the perfect location, clean, modern with a wonderful kitchen and comfortable family room. Many memories made by the woodburning stove and fire pit. Hope to return sometime. Close to hiking trails, town, artists. Loved the Saturday farmer's market.Thank you for sharing your wonderful home."
