"This propery was exactly as described! The view of the lake is stunning and since it is marshy at the end where the house is located the lake side of the house is very peaceful. The numerous windows on the lakeside let in tons of light and were great for bird watching.
The traffic from the road is rather loud (especially the occasional tractor trailers!)but after a day full of outdoor activity we slept very well!
We had two elderly dogs with us and appreciated the owners willingness to let us bring our furry friends. One word of warning on that...the floors are painted wood which is great for keeping things clean, but lacks the traction needed by old, big dogs. More than once my German Shorthaired Pointer fell and couldn't get up without assistance.
The kitchen is wonderfully equipped. Using the washing machine is tricky, but once you realize that the door is finicky it works like a charm and it was great to have!
Overall a great place to stay in a central location!"

"Previously stayed in Phil & Anne's 1 bedroom condo for our annual Columbus Day weekend trip (It's lovely too!). How fortunate that Phil let is stay in their other condo. What a pleasure on our 1st night to enjoy the spectacular view of a rose colored sunset over the green mountains while we enjoyed our Ben & Jerry's! This spacious "home away from home" is warm & cozy, filled with Anne's thoughtful touches, especially the lovely paintings. ( we even visited some local galleries looking for similar prints). 2nd nights sunset even lovelier with the addition of a hot air balloon down the hill. The unit is much larger & quieter than you'd expect, with the comfort of the fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer & really comfortable recliners ( just try to stay awake in them)! Lots of shopping, restaurants, entertainment, a farmers market, & even a sculpture garden are all an easy walk. Really enjoyed watching all the mountain biker FAMILIES, & craft brews during the BBB weekend. Quilt show in Essex was amazing! Worship at Stow Community church, you might be sitting next to a vonTrapp (& singing the benediction to the tune of Edelweiss brought tears to our eyes). Took a short drive down to White River Junction to visit King Arthur Flour (have to stock up on supplies) & Simon Pearce (how wonderful to buy a wedding present right where the glass is blown) This is a wonderful 4 season resort. Grounds are meticulously maintained, tennis courts, playground, fitness center/pool are all staffed by friendly locals who could not be more accommodating. Only Regret: that we didn't stay here years ago, our daughter would have loved it when she was little! Can't wait til October to enjoy Stowe again!"

"We had a great time here. Very comfy outdoor lounge chairs, seating for the fit pit, picnic table near the stainless gas grill. Lush green lawn and pretty flower surround the cottage. Beds were all comfy and fans in all the bdrms. Well stocked kitchen with window air conditioning and overhead fan. Large flat screen TV. Close to Canada and New York. We did a lot of sightseeing. But best of all were the sunsets!!! The lake was great for swimming, kyaking and of course, fishing. Thank you Linda"
