  • Great Vacation Home!!

"4 adults from Atlanta Georgia stayed here from Dec 25 to Jan 2nd. It is a wonderful relaxing house complete with the most beautiful view from the deck. The kitchen is well equipt and has all the necessary items and even extras such as spices. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are so very comfortable. The house does have a wood stove but we didn't use it. The road leading to the house was plowed daily so driving wasn't a problem even for those of us that had never driven on snow. There is a shed with sleds for sledding down this marvelous hill behind the house. Also the path behind the house leads to a beautiful pond and breath taking views of the snow covered woods. The owner is a dear to work with and leaves detailed instructions. We had a wonderful week here and would highly recommend this rental."

  • Restful, relaxing, perfect.

"Our entire family gathered in E.Wallingford for a week, in part for a family reunion. Our accommodation in the house was simply wonderful - plenty of room for 12 people to spread out, comfortable beds, indoor and outdoor amusements for all ages. The view and the sumptuous gardens are worth the trip. Photos convey the measure of the place very well, and the house was scrupulously clean. All communications with owner were immediate and pleasant. Kids enjoyed a White Rocks hike and swimming in Elfin Lake, while adults took advantage of kayaks for a float on a river in Poultney. Everyone played badminton and baseball, even our English daughter-in-law! We want to return every summer. Thanks to the Holdens for providing such a grand resource."

  • Great house for a fun group weekend

"Many rooms in this place. Fantastic convenience and views of the mountain. Ken is a great guy who is accommodating and friendly. There are enough beds and bathrooms to go around. Many living rooms allows for great relaxation. Great mud room for skiing that keeps the rest of the house clean. The house is far enough from other neighbors that you can have a private stay. Best things: 1) hot tub room is great 2) unlimited firewood 3) kitchen has all the appliances you could need 4) great fireplace 5) great tvs and internet 6) comfortable beds Few negatives: 1) bunk room is small, but legitimately holds six people fairly comfortably. 2) steep driveway, so make sure you have four wheel drive if going in the winter. Plow was responsive, however. I highly recommend this house and hope to return. We had a great weekend!"
