  • Sheady Acres Pet Friendly Snowboarding Vacation

"If you're skeptical about all the rave reviews I can 100% assure you they are real, we put some pics up on Trip Advisor as did many others. We spent our annual President's Week Snowboarding vacation here with our 2 pups to go to Jay Peak. The Irish Farmhouse was exactly what it shows on the video and the O'Sheas make it pet friendly!. If you're like us and hate the over crowded and over priced hotels and want your own little place this is the perfect place. It has everything you need and was incredibly warm even at -3 outside and frost forming on the front door - on the inside! We were never without hot water either. There is also a market about 2-3 miles down the road. Then Jay Peak is about 5 miles in the other direction. It doesn't get better than that. There is a nice outdoor hot tub and our pups loved running on the snow covered trails out back. The best part is they provide a story with picture of the brief history of Sheady Acres. Eamon got the land when he was 18. Then with a little help here and there he pretty much built Sheady Acres himself. His level of craftsmanship is insane. He is a total perfectionist and it shows. The accents and touches he put into the Irish Farmhouse were awesome. We're going to hit it again in the summer or fall to see what its like without 4 feet of snow! Hot tub, trails, BBQ, etc."

  • great ski rental

"This home was perfect for our two families with 4 adults and 4 kids, ranging in age from 7 to 20 yrs old. The house is very clean and well appointed and the Stowe Mtn Resort is an easy 10-15 minute drive away. There are lots of nearby restaurants if you want a night out, but we generally selected to tuck in after a long day of skiing and cook for ourselves. We found time for ice-skating and sledding in Stowe Village, and did make one trip to Piecasso for pizza and drinks, which was very enjoyable. (The sledding hill is behind the elementary school and it's a fun run, but for kids I suggest wearing ski helmets for this hill). There wasn't enough snow on the ground to do an cross-country skiing this trip but looking forward to it next time. Our hosts Janice and Lee were prompt and attentive to all our questions and concerns. We would definitely stay with them again."

  • Perfect Family Vacation

"Earlier this summer I stayed at the Lodge for a long weekend with several girlfriends. We had such an incredible time that I arranged to return for my family's annual summer vacation, including our two dogs. We weren't disappointed. We were greeted with a wonderful gift basket overflowing with Vermont goodies. There was so much for the kids to do right there...no need to drive for hours to get to that "fun spot"...it was all there! We swam, hiked, biked, and paddled. We even managed a friendly game of basketball. The bedrooms were comfortable, the living area was spacious and inviting, and the kitchen met all of our needs. The washer/dryer was a huge plus as well as having all the towels and linens we needed. The patio was a peaceful place to gather and the dock was a serene place to relax and read a good book. The owners are lovely people and most hospitable. They aided us with everything from tending a yellow jacket sting to sharing historical tidbits. We are already planning a winter getaway and perhaps a day trip to cut our very own special Christmas Tree. This is definitely a place where memories are made. Thanks for a great stay!"
