  • Perfect Family Reunion

"My family wanted to do a big get together in New England during the fall. We came from all over the country. We decided on this house because the size was a perfect fit for our large group. The house was so much more than just a place to lay our head at night. We went hiking at nearby Mount Snow, it was only a 6 minute walk to the base lodge. Some played golf, and others played horse shoes and croquet at the house. All relaxed in the hot tub afterwards. The pictures of this house do not do it justice. We spent the first hour walking around looking at all the stuff on the walls… Amazing. Our whole stay was great. From the flannel sheets on the comfy beds, to all the games in the backyard (the size of a football field), to the fire pit. I told the owner we had 22 people in our group and he had all the chairs circled around the fire pit for us. It was an enjoyable experience to say the least. Bernie wasn't there, but was accommodating to all our needs, questions and phone calls. We will definitely be back!"

  • An amazing getaway!

"We have been bringing our family here annually for more than ten years now. We originally came to Chester for our annual ski trip because of its proximity to great ski resorts (Okemo, Bromley, Magic Mountain). We fell in love with the town, the house and the wonderful apartments inside. We have since stayed here in summertime and the fall, taking advantage of the scenery and the great outdoors in Vermont. The drive up to Chester from New York only takes about 4 hours and the town is situated more or less in the middle of the state, so everything you want to do in Vermont is easily accessible. This magical colonial barn has been renovated to modern comfort and convenience without losing the charm of its history. It is always clean and cozy when we arrive. When the fireplace is lit and you are relaxing on the couch, looking out past the lawn and into the Vermont woods, there is nowhere else you'd rather be. Our children grew up here on our yearly visits, playing cards and cooking dinners after skiing, building snow forts and snowmen, trekking into town, and playing outside. Every visit we are greeted as long time friends. We all truly feel like we have extended our family thanks to the hospitality and friendship of this Chester family and their fantastic New England barn. It is a place full of the best memories and a location that we treasure. Your stay here will be remarkable!"

  • Love Burlington!

"The apartment we rented was immaculate and just perfect for my husband and I. Much better than a hotel as there is a full kitchen for those inclined to cook. The location is extremely ideal as it is close to downtown Burlington and the lake/paved bike path. It is also an easy commute to Stowe, Vermont (60 miles) if you want to explore that area. The apartment is located in a residential area and was very quiet. Bonus - Cleo the Dog - the owners' dog whom we loved! We would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again."

  • A wonderful stay!

"We just returned from a lovely week at Denise's rental home in Stowe, Vermont. The home was absolutely beautiful--cozy, clean and comfortable. It was so nice to sit on the couch with the gas fireplace going on one side and a picture-window view of snow-dusted evergreens on the other. Denise, our hostess, was a delight throughout the booking process and our stay. It really makes the whole experience of renting a private home so much nicer when you have a good feeling about the owner, and we certainly did. The photos of the property included in the posting are helpful, but I must agree with another reviewer that they don't even do it justice. The place surpassed our expectations. Plus there is a two-headed shower! One of my favorite things after skiing. And how nice to have an attached garage so you can load the car in comfort despite the weather! The home is also in a great location both for convenient access to the mountain for skiing and to the village of Stowe for dining, touring and walking the Recreation Path. Harrison's was a particularly great place for dinner (recommended by Denise), and we also enjoyed the Whip and O'Grady's. In addition, if you plan to stay in, the kitchen in the house is well equipped. We cooked several meals and loved the open kitchen layout. We were so happy with our stay here and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. And of course, we hope to have the occasion to come back in the future as well! Thank you, Denise!"
