Vermont does not have an international airport. The largest major airport is in Rutland which is a regional airport. The airport hosts domestic flights from nearby major cities such as Boston, New York City, Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Vermont is a favorite vacation destination for city dwellers from the major East Coast cities. Vermont is also within easy driving distance from these cities and many people opt to drive up there for their vacations. There are some rail routes that offer an alternative means of transport to Vermont.
