  • Better Than Expected

"The experience of staying in this beautiful chalet/ski lodge was so much better than I expected, I asked to book another stay with the wonderfully hospitable owners before I even left. Perfectly comfortable and stunningly impressive, with its gourmet kitchen, massive stone fireplace, views of Stratton Mountain, cozy nooks, open spaces, 30 foot plus ceiling and enormous table and benches perfect for socializing, this house had every convenience and comfort I could want on a weekend getaway, plus a few extra. I look forward to my next stay."

  • Great Place! Great Weekend!

"This is a wonderful house. We were a group of 14 adults and 3 toddlers and had plenty of room for all. The bedroom set-up was perfect, the kitchen is good-sized and well-stocked. 3-4 of us could comfortably work in the kitchen together making meals. We cozily fit all 14 of us at the dining table for dinner. The play room was great for the toddlers in the day-they spent hours with the toys provided. And the pool table and foosball great for adult tournaments at night. The view from the porch is wonderful (our first night it was nearly 60 so we enjoyed cold beer on the front porch) and the second and third nights were spent in front of the fireplace warming from the snow. Lastly, the owner is very responsive and willing to answer any questions. We would definitely rent this house again if we are with a large group in VT."

  • Sleep by a Relaxing River

"Perfect stay. I always dreamed of living on an Island but my dreams didn't include such palatial digs! This place was wonderful. I loved exploring the island. The history of the nearby town of Jamaica was also fun to explore. Karen (owner of grocer in Jamaica) helped put together the historical societies Jamaica Walking Tour book. She is a interesting story teller and knowledgable historian. The Jamaica State Park was beautiful. Never really needed to use the car (although I did) because the local scene was so rich. I loved learning about the Nearings from a local Jamaican and visiting the Nearings "starter home" which was a summer home of one of my greatest friends. Thanks. Your house was idyllic and in an idyllic place. And now a list of special features we enjoyed: The wonderful river that roared after a good rain and gave us all restful sleeps, the shuffle board table was the best we ever played on, the pool table and downstairs bar were slick, The beds were cozy with nice fluffy duvets, each room was quiet, the big family table was great for family gabbing, the weber grill, the outdoor swimming hole, the fire-pit with tons of firewood. The great kitchen that accommodated multiple chefs. Thanks Very Much"
