  • Wonderful Private Home In Historic District - Don't Miss It!

"I am so glad I chose this place in Abingdon. They renovated it beautifully, so that it has every modern convenience but the look of days gone by. The beds are very comfortable...we slept very well. The kitchen is completely outfitted and has high end appliances. The walk-in shower is beautiful. The water pressure could be better, but it wasn't an annoyance. I only mention it in case you want the shower to really blast you. The cozy den has a great TV, and there is a separate living room for those who need more space. The location is superb...right across the street from The Tavern Restaurant, which was excellent. And a short block away from Rain, another good place. Walking up Main Street is a history buff's delight. The town was built beginning in the 1750's or so. There is an excellent little local history and genealogy museum/library in the old train station, within walking distance if you don't mind a walk of about a mile. Lots of shops and galleries are in the neighborhood. We intend to stop here every time we are in Abington. I suggest that local folks who have guests in town and need a couple of extra bedrooms think about treating them to this lovely, cozy home."

  • Perfect location for a girls' retreat

"Eight adult female family members converged upon this lovely location for what we hope is the first of many Girls' Getaways! It was a perfect meeting place for us coming from VA, SC, NC, and OH. The crisp, frosty mornings gave way to warm and bright afternoons, perfect for horseback riding, hiking, and porch sitting. The on-site staff was attentive but not overly so. They were only a phone call away if we needed them. We kept a roaring fire going in the upstairs fireplace going for most of the weekend just to knock the chill off. The cabin was clean and well appointed. There was plenty of space for all of us. The two little girls who came with us thought the room upstairs in the loft area was built just for them! Large windows in the living room overlook the beautiful pastures and mountains, and we delighted in seeing the horses at a distance each day. Branden, the nephew of the property manager, came over and helped our little ones get up on "Misty" the white horse and ride around the property for a bit. They loved it and he was very good with the kids. Our group is already looking towards a return trip to make this an annual event! Sherman, the owner, was very easy to work with and his communication was always very quick, which I appreciated as the "event coordinator". Thank you for everything!"

  • Rustic and Charming Cabin in Historic Downtown Abingdon

"After two fun-filled days of exploring the downtown area, browsing the antique shops, and watching a Barter Show with friends, we enjoyed a take-out meal from one of the local gourmet restaurants and made a stop at Anthony's Desserts for the fabulous cheesecake. The cabin was a unique experience in the perfect location. The quaintness and rustic feel was truly a "1780 lodging experience with a lot of modern conveniences". The Creeper Trail is only two blocks away and the popular Wolf Hills Microbrewery is just across the street, so we must revisit again in the future and we will definitely stay in the cabin. It is highly recommended for family and a girls getaway."
