  • Exceeded expectations, by far

"This was a wonderful vacation rental! It is right off VA 58, but far enough up the mountain to be private - we saw no one, except the owner, and a bunch of deer, during our five-day stay. This cabin is on many acres of private property with hiking trails, and very well-maintained roads/driveways. Ample A/C or heat if you need. This little cabin was VERY clean and well-maintained, with a great layout. The view at sunset from the back yard was amazing. The bed was firm and comfortable, with a gorgeous quilt and ample blankets. Water pressure in the shower was a joy, especially at 4000'. There's a built-in heater in the bathroom that I appreciated on chilly mornings. There are tons of seating/dining options on the deck, the screened porch, or down by the fire pit. Kitchen had everything we needed, and there's a gas grill on the deck. For those interested in the VA Creeper Trail: The property is about halfway between Whitetop and Green Cove stations. We spent most of our days hiking and biking, Mt Rogers and Grayson Highlands. Do know that there is no cell phone service here. There may be Internet if you go down by the lower cabin (access code for that was in our cabin, but we didn't check it out.) Happily, they allow dogs with no pet fee or cleaning fee = AMAZING. We use VRBO rentals for our vacations often. This one was the best value, and most comfortable stay I have ever had. Many thanks to the owners!"

  • Beautiful cabin in a beautiful place

"This is a wonderful cabin in a quiet and secluded spot. There is plenty of room and everything is generally in good shape. Its only limitation is the access. One ABSOLUTELY needs a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to get to the cabin from the main road. Otherwise, you'll need to walk up a very steep driveway with whatever gear you can carry."

  • Beautiful Home in a lovely location

"We rented this home with 5 couples who were there for the purpose of riding motorcycles on the wonderful Virginia/North Carolina roads. We stayed for 5 nights and did 4 day rides out from here. We had 7 couples in total and 2 couples stayed in their sister home, Shady River Cabin. The home met our needs very well and the owner was very kind to us and even drove us in to town to pick up pizza. He also built us a bonfire. One helpful hint if you are traveling as friends/couples: There are 3 full bathrooms,2 of them are inside of bedrooms, (the couple in the master bedroom said "we are living a dream" so put your early risers in those two bedrooms. Great home! We had a lot of fun."
