"We just returned from a 4 night stay at Journey's Retreat. It was more beautiful than imagined, with every amenity provided. From a well-stocked, gourmet kitchen, to beautifully designed living quarters, every detail in this home has been thoughtfully executed to provide guests with all the comforts of home and more.
The mountain views were amazing and we loved sitting on the balcony each morning and watching the days come to life. In the evenings, we cozied up to the fireplace with members of our family and spent time catching up on times past. We enjoyed every moment of our wonderful, memorable stay and can't wait for the opportunity to come back.
If you visit Journey's Retreat, you will not be disappointed! A short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, we loved the fall leaves, picturesque mountains, valleys and especially, Maybry Mills. Be sure and visit the Dutch Oven in Hillsville for the best reuben, homemade breads, doughnuts and muffins, made by Dutch Amish owners, fresh each day.
Thank you to owner, Dr. Jack, and caretaker, Jerry, for making our stay perfect in every way."

"My daughter and I met here for a mother-daughter weekend biking and hiking trip. The cabin was a perfect size and the hot tub was so relaxing after our Virginia Creeper bike ride and the hike at Gentry Creek Falls. Leon, the owner, was quick to respond to my emails and had everything ready for us. He even suggested some great places to eat in Mountain City! My son and his wife want to bike the trail and I will definitely recommend staying at Black Bear Retreat."

"My husband and I spent three wonderful nights at the Park Street Guest House with another couple. We had never been to Abingdon before, and the location could not have been better - within walking distance of the Barter Theater and fabulous restaurants and shopping. Having two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a living area, kitchen and dining rooms, and porches make it a real bargain over two hotel rooms!!!!! Try it - you'll love it!"

"I just spent the weekend at this darling cabin on the Virginia Creeper Trail. It had perfect access to the trail so we could ride our bikes or run the trail directly from the driveway. The owners were easy to work with and the cabin was spotless when we arrived. It also had all the things you might need in the kitchen. I loved sitting on the porch and listening to the river. I would love to come back and bring my family to this place. The Virginia Creeper Trail has stolen my heart for sure. :) The only negative to this area is the sporatic cell reception/ wifi."
