"We had a great time in the Fancy Gap area, there were 7 adults and 1, 4 year old.
The family enjoyed going down to the lake and exploring the area, with the child.
We met some of the families who owned other cabins in the area. The cabin really
suited my family and we would like to rent the cabin for 2015 if it is still available
for rent next year."

"As the opening lyrics to John Denver's great song say this house will make you feel about as close to heaven as you can get on this planet. Plus, the music in these mountains will get under your skin if you give it any chance whatsoever. The house is beautiful with majestic views that can't be caught by camera and defy description, you have to see it to believe it, the very reason that if you truly want to get away to a quiet, wonderful place to relax and enjoy the mountains this should be your destination. The house was immaculate and very well stocked, all you need are your food and your clothes. The house is so large and well laid out that 3 families or 3 couples could live there and either enjoy each others company in the huge living room with windows that provide views that have to be seen to be fully appreciated, or live in their own spaces without hardly ever seeing each other. Every bedroom has it own bath and every bedroom leads onto a 2 level deck that you will just sit out on and marvel at the views. Birds soar below your perch on the deck as you look down into the magnificent valleys below. The owner was responsive to any inquiry and had a small hot water heater problem fixed almost immediately. We saw deer and wild turkey as we drove down to Floyd and to Meadows of Dan. The people in these small towns are just about as good of folks as you would ever want to meet and the live music at the Floyd Country Store should not be missed. We have rented several cabins in the mountains in Western North Carolina but this one, our first in Virginia, was our favorite to date. We will be back. Thanks Bill for a great stay."

"We were originally getting away for a graduation ceremony at Virginia Tech. Motel rooms were limited, so we looked elsewhere for lodging and fell in love with Overlook Cabin. With only a 45 minute to an hour commute to VT, we decided to make this an extended vacation.
If you are looking for a quiet get away with limited access to the outside, Overlook Cabin is the place to be. You can sit back and relax, knowing that there is a good chance of no interruptions from a phone call or e-mail notification. The only sounds you will hear is that of a wild turkey, owl, or the wind rustling the leaves of the trees. At night, you can settle in beside the fireplace while looking up at the stars. This is definitely unlike any place I have rented before."

"Excellent place for relaxing by the lake. The location of the house is wonderful. The home has plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It was also very nice to have access to the canoe. Would certainly recommend this home for a stay at Claytor Lake!"
