"We rented Amanda's Hide-a-way fro a girls weekend out. It is so convenient to the creeper, we passed the house on way on to the trail. We were warm, safe and had everything we needed right there. It was just a great place to relax and watch the herons out on the pond. We also saw deer. Communication with the owners was great also. I hope we can go back soon. Very convenient also to music at Phipps Store. The only drawback was the lack of cell and wifi service, but a phone is furnished in the house."

"This was a wonderful vacation rental!
It is right off VA 58, but far enough up the mountain to be private - we saw no one, except the owner, and a bunch of deer, during our five-day stay. This cabin is on many acres of private property with hiking trails, and very well-maintained roads/driveways.
Ample A/C or heat if you need.
This little cabin was VERY clean and well-maintained, with a great layout. The view at sunset from the back yard was amazing.
The bed was firm and comfortable, with a gorgeous quilt and ample blankets. Water pressure in the shower was a joy, especially at 4000'. There's a built-in heater in the bathroom that I appreciated on chilly mornings.
There are tons of seating/dining options on the deck, the screened porch, or down by the fire pit. Kitchen had everything we needed, and there's a gas grill on the deck.
For those interested in the VA Creeper Trail: The property is about halfway between Whitetop and Green Cove stations.
We spent most of our days hiking and biking, Mt Rogers and Grayson Highlands.
Do know that there is no cell phone service here. There may be Internet if you go down by the lower cabin (access code for that was in our cabin, but we didn't check it out.)
Happily, they allow dogs with no pet fee or cleaning fee = AMAZING.
We use VRBO rentals for our vacations often. This one was the best value, and most comfortable stay I have ever had. Many thanks to the owners!"

"This was our second time staying in Abby and Mike's fabulous rental home. We had a wonderful time on the Creeper trail (some folks biked UP, others joined them later for the downhill ride) two days in a row and a great time eating leisurely breakfasts, lunches and dinners looking out over the fabulous back yard. Our kids enjoyed themselves in the hammocks, hunting wild strawberries, and playing horse shoes, and we parents enjoyed the freedom to just let them roam. We can't wait to book another trip!"

Perfect for biking the Creeper and seeing Grayson Highlands Park
"This is a very nice property and the owners are awesome! It is a bargain to say the least. You can leave the house by bike and be on the Creeper Trail in just minutes. Bring two vehicles, leave one in Damascus and simply head out from the house. Don't spend a couple hundred bucks on rental bikes, insurance, and transportation fees. Bring your own bikes and it will work out fine. The trail is remarkable and we stopped at "In the Country" café just as you get into Damascus. The food was outstanding and the homemade sweets are a must. This house is beautiful, comfortable, and well stocked. It is also very roomy and open. No, there's no Wi-Fi, but you'll live without it, and there is good cable TV in two rooms."
