  • A wonderful mountain house!

"We just returned from a visit to this wonderful house. We cannot say enough great things about it. Of course, the view is incomparable. Pictures cannot capture the beauty of the long-range views. I guarantee you will be mesmerized. The house itself is very nice -- clean, roomy, and comfortable. The bedrooms are arranged such that you will feel like you are in your own little retreat -- each one has a bath and is off by itself. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook just about anything. The house was immaculate. Cleanliness matters to us and you never know until you get there how things will be -- pictures can be deceiving. But this house was very clean and well-maintained (it is not a new house, but it is not very old either….) The carpet looked new as did the deck. The wood floors shined. The bathrooms were spotless. But the best thing about this rental is the owners. They really take good care of you - very attentive, lots of communication. We had one small problem -- we could not get the gas fireplace to light. (Stupid us -- the pilot light was out!) I e-mailed the owner and he called us right away! He offered to have someone come out and get the pilot light lit. (We refused mainly because we were embarrassed not to have noticed something so obvious and did not think it warranted having someone come to the house, but the owner would have arranged it had we asked.) The owners are just great to work with and give you complete confidence that your rental experience will be a positive one. All in all, this was the best VRBO experience I have had!"

  • Perfect location for a girls' retreat

"Eight adult female family members converged upon this lovely location for what we hope is the first of many Girls' Getaways! It was a perfect meeting place for us coming from VA, SC, NC, and OH. The crisp, frosty mornings gave way to warm and bright afternoons, perfect for horseback riding, hiking, and porch sitting. The on-site staff was attentive but not overly so. They were only a phone call away if we needed them. We kept a roaring fire going in the upstairs fireplace going for most of the weekend just to knock the chill off. The cabin was clean and well appointed. There was plenty of space for all of us. The two little girls who came with us thought the room upstairs in the loft area was built just for them! Large windows in the living room overlook the beautiful pastures and mountains, and we delighted in seeing the horses at a distance each day. Branden, the nephew of the property manager, came over and helped our little ones get up on "Misty" the white horse and ride around the property for a bit. They loved it and he was very good with the kids. Our group is already looking towards a return trip to make this an annual event! Sherman, the owner, was very easy to work with and his communication was always very quick, which I appreciated as the "event coordinator". Thank you for everything!"

  • Family Meeting Place

"This is the second time we have rented this cabin. The first time was last November when my husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with our daughters and their spouses. When we all arrived, we instantly felt at home! Sue left us some wonderful bakery, wine cheese and crackers and all the fixings for breakfast. She truly thought of everything! The house was spotless and tastefully decorated. I met my daughter there 3/2015 for some "girl" time. We felt completely safe, relaxed and it was just like coming home! The property is great for exploring or just sitting on the porch and enjoying the creek sounds. You won't be disappointed!"

  • Family Get to Gather

"We had a great time in the Fancy Gap area, there were 7 adults and 1, 4 year old. The family enjoyed going down to the lake and exploring the area, with the child. We met some of the families who owned other cabins in the area. The cabin really suited my family and we would like to rent the cabin for 2015 if it is still available for rent next year."
