  • Hidden Gem!!!

"We had a WONDERFUL long weekend at this Hidden Gem! My family decided to experience life at the lake one weekend and scoured the internet looking for just the right place for us. Close enough to for a short drive from Lynchburg (it was only 30 miles!) Big enough to accommodate us with enough amenities and comfort to help everyone unwind and have fun...and WE FOUND IT! Warren was very professional and helpful and reserving it was a breeze. All stress melted away once we made our way down the lovely rustic driveway nestled in the tall trees and pulled up to this lovely lake home. The home was clean with everything we needed to make a wonderful memory. Very spacious and had plenty of nooks to nestle in as well as larger areas to spread out. Comfortable seating, plenty of beds and bathrooms, 3 table areas to play board games and enjoy delicious meals. The first night we grilled out with the big gas grill provided. The kitchen was so well stocked my kitchen at home is envious! We enjoyed breakfast on the enormous wrap around deck. The huge basement provided hours of fun as we played many a ping pong and air hockey tournament. We set up the badminton net outside and even enjoyed the leftover pool toys. The gently sloping yard made it easy to enjoy the calm cove & the double docks. Even my 6 yr old nephew could venture out between the docks as it created a nice little swimming area for him. Beyond the docks it goes deeper so my teenage nieces could jump off the docks and have a great time. With a big table and plenty of seating options down at the dock, we spent as much time as we could soaking up the last of September’s Sun. We all felt just like we were at home there. My 60+ mother walks with a cane due to MS and found the home and property easy to get around in. She enjoyed doing puzzles and drinking coffee overlooking this picturesque setting. More people need to know about this little gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle. My niece said she felt like she was in a movie staying there because it really brought you into the woods and the lake setting in such a magical way! We enjoyed our time at the Bridgewater Marina nearby on Sunday evening. Restaurants, Boat rentals, Gas stations, Grocery Stores...all close enough for convince but when you are nestled away at this lake house, the busy rush of the rest of the world disappears! Thanks to Warren for everything. The setting and the price can't be beat! My friend already has booked it for her fam"

  • Great Rental Right on the Water with Dock

"Excellent location right on the lake. Very comfortable house. Well stocked kitchen. Reasonably priced boat rentals at nearby marina. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Food Lion is relatively close by; well stocked and reasonably priced. Thanks for a great week of relaxing vacation! With regard to the water pressure comment from a 2010 renter, we had absolutely no problems. Water pressure was great for showers and laundry."

  • Annual skiing & wine tasting vacation

"This is the 3rd year we have stayed here. We meet our grown children and a few of their friends for skiing and wine tasting. The Condo has all the amenities needed for our stay. It's the perfect place for skiing, relaxing, viewing the scenery, enjoying a glass of wine. We plan to return next year."

Central Virginia Travel Tips

Central Virginia, the Birthplace of America

Choosing Central Virginia condos as bases for vacations puts visitors in a region that is known as the birthplace of America. With the first permanent settlement in Jamesburg in 1607 through its role in the Revolution and Civil War, it is an area of living history. Its major cities include Richmond, Charlottesville and Lynchburg. To get here, visitors fly to Richmond International Airport. You could also travel via the excellent interstate highways leading to Central Virginia, with I-64, I-95, I-295 and I-85 all providing access to the region, along with many state highways.

The weather of Virginia is often described as "Goldilocks Climate," being not too hot and not too cold. It is a humid, subtropical area with frosty winters and sometimes "sticky" during the height of summer.

Cities Full of History With the Mountains on the Doorstep

Richmond is home to history, arts, antiques, and culture. It is considered to be the birthplace of Black Capitalism with many sites honoring the role of African Americans in shaping the nation. Explore the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, the Black History Museum and the L. Douglas Wilder Library.

Charlottesville is a charming, centrally located city in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains; it is a great base for exploring the mountains. It has a wide range of museums, galleries and parks. History-lovers can visit Monticello, home to one of the nation’s best loved founders, Thomas Jefferson. It is also an ideal place for golf-lovers with several championship courses nearby. Set within an area with rivers and lakes, it is perfect for exploring, sailing, swimming and fishing. There are also sports such as kayaking, canoeing and tubing here. It’s a great mixture of adventure and relaxation.

Also in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is Lynchburg, the city of Seven Hills. Central Virginia lodging is close to a variety of historic sites.

Trips around this region include the Civil War Trails that follow the route of the campaigns and battlefields through Richmond, Petersburg and Appomattox. Here, visitors should stop at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, the Pamplin Historic Park and National Museum of the Civil War Soldier, and Appomattox Court House and National Historic Park.

Great Shopping, Great Food and Great Fun

The region around Central Virginia vacation rentals is a shopper’s paradise with a huge variety of shopping excursions available. Whether you are looking for antiques, crafts or even a present for a beloved pet, it is all here. The farmers' markets are full of wonderfully fresh, locally grown produce which is great to take back to your Central Virginia lodging for some fabulous meals.

Dining is a real pleasure to be undertaken in Central Virginia, with wonderful regional dishes such as country ham with grits to specialty ethnic restaurants. Perhaps a family buffet in a local diner, a country kitchen serving fried chicken, or a great place for BBQ fits your personal tastes. There is also five-star dining with unique menus and fabulous service in elegant surroundings.

The region is home to a great selection of days trips to zoos and theme parks, including the famous Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and Kings Dominion. Of special interest for children may be the Haunted Monster Museum and Dinosaur Kingdom and the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge. For animal-lovers, a trip to Infinity Acres Alpaca Farm is a wonderful opportunity to get up close with these beautiful, gentle animals.
