Great Family get together
"My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Thoroughfare. I went with my 4 married children and 6 grandchildren ranging in ages 3 to 14. There was something for all of them to do. Originally we had planned several side trips, however, everyone felt so relaxed and loved the farm I could not get them to go anywhere, we did pick blueberries on day. My daughters said they preferred the farm to the beach since there were no toys, umbrellas, chairs and stuff to lug around, all we needed was provided."

"We recently stayed at Afton Cottage while visiting the area. The location was great--centrally located to many of the sights and activities of Central Virginia. The cottage was stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The best part was being able to bring our three dogs along on the trip. They enjoyed hiking on Skyline Drive each day. I would definitely consider a return trip to Afton Cottage!"

"The cabin is gorgeous and secluded on the mountain. It is not too far (maybe 20 min) from shopping centers and the local club/bar scene. The owner was very quick to respond to questions I had and was very helpful. She was very professional and everything went smooth since she delivered a packet with useful information regarding directions and helpful tips.
We could not make it to the very top of the driveway but there was plenty of space to park just yards away. The cabin was very clean and it had a homey feel to it. We were all in love with the kitchen that had an old school fridge and wood burning stove, but also regular stove in case you don't want to use the other one. There are 2 huge windows where you can see through the living room, which was amazing during the day with the views and creepy at night for a group of all women. The dining table was long enough to fit our group that consisted of 10 people. Plenty of sleeping room, in fact we did not use an entire room that had 3 beds in it. You simply can't beat the mountain views heading up to the cabin."

"My girlfriends and I just got back yesterday from staying in this absolutely charming cottage. It is immaculately clean, neat and tidy. We could not have asked for better accomodations. It was close to all the attractions we came to visit (Monticello, Montpelier, Ash-Lawn Highland and local wineries). One of the best parts was being able to walk to the downtown mall and have so many restaurants to choose from. We were very sad to leave this beautiful home. Don't pass up an opportunity to say at this fantastic rental. The owner is so easy to work with and she made everything comfortable and easy for our stay!"
