  • Great little cottage

"My family recently stayed at the Afton cottage over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time! Dick enthusiastically greeted us at the cottage with a warm welcome and an invitation to call if we needed anything. As soon as you walk in the door you feel at home - Dick and Virginia have done a wonderful job created a mountain getaway that feels comfortable and inviting. A huge plus for us was the ability to bring our dog. She loved running around and exploring the property. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area (and the house is available)."

  • Great Stay Near Downtown Mall

"We came to Charlottesville to attend the UVA football game and enjoy the downtown mall. We had two couples and a 1 year old in the house, and it was perfect. We got food from a cute market on the Mall (which is an easy stroll away), and picked up coffee at a coffeeshop/market right next to the house (along with an art gallery). The house was decorated very modern and loved the abstract art. It was the perfect plact to cook, hang out and enjoy each other's company. It was nearby everything you needed, a 2 mile walk to UVA campus, and there is also public transportation. Recommend stopping by some vineyards on the way into town! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!"

  • Absolutely Perfect

"We had a disaster experience with the Mark Addy Inn down the road, and this place became our wedding savior. From the first phone call Barbara was friendly and accommodating. We rented all 3 houses for the weekend for our entire bridal party, and everyone was treated like royalty. The property is gorgeous and spacious, the rooms are stately and elegant yet somehow homey, and a short walk gets you to a pool and lake. Barbara even came by with carrots to let my little nieces and nephews feed the horses. Cannot recommend this place higher, it helped make one of the best weekends of my life!"
