  • Great Stay Near Downtown Mall

"We came to Charlottesville to attend the UVA football game and enjoy the downtown mall. We had two couples and a 1 year old in the house, and it was perfect. We got food from a cute market on the Mall (which is an easy stroll away), and picked up coffee at a coffeeshop/market right next to the house (along with an art gallery). The house was decorated very modern and loved the abstract art. It was the perfect plact to cook, hang out and enjoy each other's company. It was nearby everything you needed, a 2 mile walk to UVA campus, and there is also public transportation. Recommend stopping by some vineyards on the way into town! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!"

  • Great Location - Plenty of Room

"Rental was centrally located to all the venues used for son's wedding activities. Plenty of space for extended family to relax and prepare for events. The spacious kitchen and refrigerator were very useful for handling the large amounts of food required for the rehearsal dinner."

  • Best family vacation to date!

"We just spent the our first vacation at SML and absolutely loved it! The house is lovely with plenty of space and the kitchen had everything you need. We did bring our own coffee maker, which was a good thing because the coffee maker that is there is very small. The bedrooms are nicely appointed and large and the master suite is very nice with a newly remodeled bath. It was so nice to just step out of the house right onto the dock. We rented a boat for the week from Bridgewater Marina and we spent 90% of our time at the house swimming, boating, knee boarding, wake boarding and fishing. This was the first vacation where we didn't have to leave to go find something to do, it was all right there! And the best part...the kids never said "we're bored" :-) The cove is very peaceful with only a handful of other boats in and out and we loved sitting on the party deck in the morning with our coffee and in the evening with a cocktail to watch the sunset. It is only 100 yds to the main part of the lake with a quick boat ride to Bridgewater Marina - with restaurants, an arcade, mini-golf, a rock climbing wall, live music and shopping. There are other marinas and restaurants closer to the house as well like Mitchell's Marina and Bernard's Landing. We will definitely be back!"

  • This place has everything!

"This has got to be one of the best lots on the lake! We loved the private beach, nice fire pit area, hot tub and large screened yard separate from the lake access. This gave us additional security to let the kids run around without worrying about them going by the water without adult supervision in arms' reach. The layout is very accommodating for families or groups, the foosball is a nice touch, and all-in-all, the openness of the floorplan allowed us to enjoy a relaxing time together without feeling crowded. We would definitely rent this house again."
