Magical, Secluded, Perfect Property to Get Away from it All!
"My wife and I stayed here because we wanted to get away from everyday life and be "off the grid" for the weekend and this property was perfect for that! The property offers seclusion and privacy more than any other place we have ever stayed. We also wanted to visit some vineyards and hike Old Rag. The is a vineyard within walking distance and a few others within a short drive, and the start of the hike is walkable as well (about 2 miles away). The house was very clean and maintained very well. I cannot rave enough about the location and privacy - absolutely perfect! I caught some fish in the pond, snapped a picture and quickly returned them. We saw deer and many different kinds of birds, a lizard, bunnies, and a little mouse crossing the "driveway". The only thing I would like to mention to potential renters are bring your own water if you do not care for well water, there is basically no cell service on the property (although mine worked on the far side of the pond!?) and watch for bears (we saw 4) but as long as you don't bother them they mind their business. The only thing we would change is the fact we had to leave..."

"Thanks to the Old Rag Cabin team for a wonderful stay. Our family of four spent 3 nights in the cabin, hiking Old Rag one day and Ceder Run/White Oak Canyon the next. After each hike it was refreshing to return to base and leap into the pond for a swim. Facilities and setting are accurately described in HomeAway information, including a truly secluded wooded lot. On-site caretaker Connie was there for any questions. We enjoyed the experience tremendously."

"We very much enjoyed our family vacation at this property. The owners have done a great job restoring and rehabbing the home. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had nearly everything we needed to prepare our meals. Everyone had a great time. The "men" used the shooting range. The children played games and ran around without anyone worrying. We hiked the Shenandoah National Forest, visited Monticello and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. Everyone wants to come back next year."

"I love these cabins and have stayed here multiple times. Very comfortable, great views, CLEAN, with great amenities if you want to grill or cook a full meal in the kitchen after a long day of hiking. Many awesome hikes with lots of wildlife viewing very nearby, and for the fly fisherman there are several close places to fish for beautiful brook trout in the mountain streams of Shenandoah National Park."
