"My family and I had a wonderful time while staying at this unique and beautiful place. There was enough space to comfortably accommodate 10 of us - 8 adults and 2 kids. The house was very clean and well maintained without any funny smells which I am very particular about. The view from the deck was gorgeous and even though the dock and beach were a little too far away from the house, we were lucky to have nice weather so walking down there was fun and quite adventurous for my kids because they could see a herd of deer on the way. The lawn was mowed, and the kids enjoys running up and down the hill.
From being out in the water by day and making smores over campfire by night, we’ve definitely enjoyed every moment!"

"We arrive at the vacation home for a long extended weekend with some close friends. We were blown away with the amount of space and the great amenities that are offered. The rec/theater room was a HUGE addition as we were able to catch all of the football games on that weekend. The dock located on site allows for plenty of water options and is still tucked in a small cove that doesn't get much water traffic. The grill and in wall speaker system was a nice perk as well as the shuffle board, pool table and poker table. We really enjoyed how each bedroom had their own bathroom so everyone had their own space.
The MiFi mentioned didn't work for us and Wifi would be a great bonus. Verizon cell phone service was fairly limited throughout the house and you need to head to the boat dock to pick up a decent signal.
All in all we were really pleased with our rental and will keep this place in mind when we are planning another weekend trip."

"We rented the home for a family vacation with visiting relatives close to Roanoke area. The house was very spacious and more than accommodating for the group we had. The layout offered privacy and space for naps for elderly or young if needed throughout day. There is a water trampoline, paddle boat, floats, lifejackets, golf cart all for guest use. There is a deck just off the living room upstairs that gives a good view of the yard and cove area. The kitchen was well equipped. They had linens provided, although we brought our own. The washer and dryer were HE and new....worked like a dream. Although, given early warning to stay within the homes boundaries, we found the neighbors to be pleasant. The owners were good with communication, answered when we had issues.... and were very easy to deal with. There was a small issues with the water trampoline at check in, from the last guests, of which the owners graciously offered to drive 3 hours to fix, although we were able to do for them instead. The last evening we had an issue with the kids getting lose in the golf cart and creating some damage to property.... owners were very calm with issue and assured us they would follow up with inspection. The home itself is great! A little more on the secluded side of SML, but well worth the drive. The bedding and furniture were all comfortable and the extras downstairs were great for rainy days (pool table, shuffle board). The house was so large we didn't use the downstairs kitchen. We did not use the guest amenities at the campground/marina nearby, but they are available for guests as well (playground, small beach and dock and tiki bar.) The small beach area that belongs with the property is great for kids being able to play with the rocks, build in sand or easily wade out in the water....as there is a very gradual decline."

"Lovely cottage and beautiful setting. It rained (heavily) the entire weekend but we still had a good time relaxing in the cabin and fishing off the dock. Explored a bit around Moneta and Burnt Chimney (go to Homestead Creamery). Would love to go back sometime when there's some sun!"
