  • Beautiful view

"The view from the cottage is beautiful. Could not ask for a better spot. The colors of Fall were well displayed. Hiking trails nearby. The cottage itself is quaint and, as indicated, is nice and private even with other houses around. We sat on the dock for most of the afternoon watching boats pass by. People with mobility issues may have problems with the steps leading to the dock, and it is on a hill, however it is good exercise for those without health issues and worth the climb back up. Pics are accurate so travellers can be their own judge."

  • Nice Little Cabin

"Smith Mountain Lake was great! Boat traffic was low during the week and always light where the cabin is located. The cabin had great views, a nice hot tub and great location. It fit our needs nicely. A few things that did not go according to plan were lack of internet, high humidity inside the cabin and no place to make a fire outside. We reset the wireless but it still did not work. The humidity inside the cabin was high even with the a/c on. Nothing dried out and we had to throw stuff in the drier often. We were hoping for an outdoor fire pit for roasting marsh mellows but they don't have one at the cabin. These were minor things and did not really detract from our stay. We swam and fished off the dock, which was great except it looked like someone or something left fish guts on the dock that we had to attempt to clean. Yuck! We rented a boat from Mitchell's Marina and had a great time with that. Nice people there! SML State Park was awesome too! All in all a nice time at the lake! Thanks!"

  • little piece of heaven for those who are on overload

"This house was a perfect get away! It was warm and cozy and had every amenity you could need! It was clean and the bed was very comfortable and so quite..the owners make sure you feel at home and could want for nothing The golf cart for those loaded trips down to the dock was a perfect extra touch. The lake is beautiful and so many things to do in the area....the week went very fast and I would have loved to stay a few more days...i would definitely put this on my list for a return visit! my only regret was that we did not bring our dog as she would have loved it!"

  • Hidden Gem!!!

"We had a WONDERFUL long weekend at this Hidden Gem! My family decided to experience life at the lake one weekend and scoured the internet looking for just the right place for us. Close enough to for a short drive from Lynchburg (it was only 30 miles!) Big enough to accommodate us with enough amenities and comfort to help everyone unwind and have fun...and WE FOUND IT! Warren was very professional and helpful and reserving it was a breeze. All stress melted away once we made our way down the lovely rustic driveway nestled in the tall trees and pulled up to this lovely lake home. The home was clean with everything we needed to make a wonderful memory. Very spacious and had plenty of nooks to nestle in as well as larger areas to spread out. Comfortable seating, plenty of beds and bathrooms, 3 table areas to play board games and enjoy delicious meals. The first night we grilled out with the big gas grill provided. The kitchen was so well stocked my kitchen at home is envious! We enjoyed breakfast on the enormous wrap around deck. The huge basement provided hours of fun as we played many a ping pong and air hockey tournament. We set up the badminton net outside and even enjoyed the leftover pool toys. The gently sloping yard made it easy to enjoy the calm cove & the double docks. Even my 6 yr old nephew could venture out between the docks as it created a nice little swimming area for him. Beyond the docks it goes deeper so my teenage nieces could jump off the docks and have a great time. With a big table and plenty of seating options down at the dock, we spent as much time as we could soaking up the last of September’s Sun. We all felt just like we were at home there. My 60+ mother walks with a cane due to MS and found the home and property easy to get around in. She enjoyed doing puzzles and drinking coffee overlooking this picturesque setting. More people need to know about this little gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle. My niece said she felt like she was in a movie staying there because it really brought you into the woods and the lake setting in such a magical way! We enjoyed our time at the Bridgewater Marina nearby on Sunday evening. Restaurants, Boat rentals, Gas stations, Grocery Stores...all close enough for convince but when you are nestled away at this lake house, the busy rush of the rest of the world disappears! Thanks to Warren for everything. The setting and the price can't be beat! My friend already has booked it for her fam"
