"First let me say thank you to Alice for being so responsive to our LAST MINUTE REQUEST. I sent her a request on 2 Sept for a stay that coming 6 Sept! She made it happen. My husband & I wanted somewhere we could relax but still enjoy a lake. This is such a place. This is NOT a place you should expect to have tons of things to do, this is a place to just sit on the dock; morning, noon & night. It was exactly what we needed to unwind. It was beautiful & calming. We did rent a pontoon for a few hours to check out the lake, which is quite a large lake. Our main objective was relaxation. Thank goodness because it takes 20 minutes to drive or boat to the nearest town. So be sure to have all you provisions with you upon arrival. There are two bedrooms upstairs & one downstairs. We stayed upstairs in the QN bed, which was comfortable. Downstairs there is a washer & dryer, another bathroom & a game table, which we didn't use. We did sit on the screened in porch, but only for a bit. The lake called us, it was so nice sitting under the canopy on the dock or under the sun. We even got into the water. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or two couples or a friends weekend. Kids would also enjoy the lake, but there's only so much time by the water that a kid can take. They will get bored, I have children. There's no park close by, but there is a game room downstairs. Which is great if you want the adults upstairs & the kids downstairs.
Some of my concerns are that at least two of the bar stools need replaced, they are dangerous. The coffee table upstairs needs work, it was wobbly. That's REALLY the only problems we had in the house. It is a lovely cabin. If you have any knee problems be aware that it is a sloping yard to the dock. I was able to handle but it did make my knees ache for awhile.
I would recommend this cabin on the lake."

"Our group of friends from college has travelled many places over the years, and this might be our favorite house out of all of our vacations! The amenities were great, loved being right on the lake, and the views were breathtaking! The kids in our group loved the movie theater room. There was certainly enough space in the house that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other all of the time. We would love to see an outdoor fire pit added to the list of amenities, as it would be so nice to be outside at night and make smores -- and maybe even a hot tub! The sound system throughout the house that also played outside was a great bonus. Mifi didn't work for us, but we also couldn't find the cord to plug it in. Kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed to cook or clean with. Loved this house and hope to come back next year!"

"We can not thank the owners enough for allowing us to vacation in their home at the lake. We enjoyed every moment relaxing, swimming and just quiet time for reading and visiting with family and friends. House was every thing we had hoped for and more. Owners were a treasured bonus, friendly and helpful we enjoyed every moment we spent with them. We look forward to enjoying their home and lake next year but even more we look forward to getting to visit with them again. Thank you! God Bless and keep you well till next we meet."

"Our first stay at SML. House was great, everything we needed. Nice views of the lake from master bedroom, dining room and living room. John and Donna were awesome. Stayed for 6 days, rented a run-about for 3 of the days. Coming after Labor Day, we found a few lakefront restaurants closed but the reduced traffic on the lake far outweighed any small inconvenience finding lunch and a cold beer. For any new comers renting a boat, I suggest you invest in a waterproof lake map/chart ($7) like we did - we marked every marina that had fuel and every lakefront restaurant; we explored the entire lake without wasting time and without worrying about finding our way (the size of the lake can be a bit intimidating!). Would definitely stay here again."
