Pirate's Cove perfect place for a family get away!
"The owners were very flexible with us and accommodated our last minute plans. As soon as we arrived we made ourselves at home and were on the dock enjoying the water view. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a very relaxing weekend on the lake. The use of the kayaks was awesome since my 11 year old son learned that weekend how to kayak by himself. They also did a lot of fishing. Wish we had more then the weekend to spend here and will definitely come back to SML."

"My wife and two sons (7&4) spent a week at this condo through Labor Day. We had a great time. The condo is perfectly located in SML and the landlords are terrific to deal with. The condo is beautiful, clean and extremely comfortable. The view from the balcony is one of the best in SML. The garaged reserved parking at the condo is extremely convenient and within a few feet of the elevator which is also a few feet from your condo...that was awesome for coming and going. The pool is great and everything you need is right next door...restaurants, marina, gift shops, amusements for the kids etc.
One of the best vacations we have taken, We will be back.
I would highly recommend this condo !"

"This condo was huge. We had a large balcony, dining room, and a very big living room. Sleeps 7 comfortably when pullout bed is used. Well-stocked kitchen and gas grills on each side of the property allowed us to save money by grilling at night and eating in. The positive to this side of the lake is peace and quiet. The only negative is it's not close to anything if you need something. The closest convenience store is about 12 -15 minutes. It closes at 9 pm on the weekends, but has gas and live bait. If the condo had wifi, my teenage kids would've rated it perfect. I was fine with no Internet for a week, but I would recommend taking a printout of all marina, restaurants, rental places, etc with you. Understand that 90% of these places are on the other side of the lake (30 min drive minimum). The shape of the lake makes road and especially water navigation very challenging. Have a lake map with reference numbers and a good GPS app on your phone. The dock at this property where we fished, ate, swam, and just hung out was awesome, too.
We will definitely return to this location."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully appointed home on Smith Mountain Lake. It was a family vacation with two adult children and spouses, and 3 grandchildren. The location on the lake, the beach and the house couldn't have been better for us all. We thoroughly enjoyed the week and will definitely be back. Bed set-up was terrific for us in that our family with little children had a floor to themselves and our couple with no kids enjoyed their retreat upstairs. Grandparents had a lovely private master suite with access to the deck which made for perfect mornings with coffee.
The lake was absolutely wonderful at this time of year and the whole family enjoyed it. Fishing was super off the dock for the little ones. We rented a pontoon boat for part of the time, and next time will rent it for the whole week. It was much more fun than our little bass boat. Joe made it possible for us to keep our bass boat in the boat house and that was particularly appreciated.
All in all a perfect spot and the Jenkins were wonderful to work with. The house is obviously a family home with photos around, plenty of games, books, wood for the firepit (which was a favorite!) and a very well appointed kitchen. We lacked for nothing.
I highly recommend this place. It was our first lake trip (we are usually a beach family) and it was a big hit for everyone."
