"Our eight-person family recently had the pleasure of spending a week at beautiful Grandview Manor. I'm not sure that my vocabulary possesses the proper superlatives to describe this place, but I will try. A lot of times, you look at sites like this, read the glowing description, commit to rent the place, then get there and you get a lot of disappointment because it is nothing like that description. Not the case with Grandview Manor, though. From the moment we arrived amidst the blooming Crepe Myrtle trees, we were struck by the vast area of well-manicured landscaping surrounding the house. As we toured the house and the pool/tennis court area and saw how clean and well-maintained everything was, it became abundantly clear that the owners really care about their customers. The attention to detail is impressive. The huge first floor master suite on the pool side of the house can best be described as opulent. The master suite on the other side of the house is extremely large and well-appointed. The 2nd floor enclosed porch overlooking the water is memorable.
Outside, the tennis court plays very well. It has a high fence. (So very little chasing after errant balls). The pool house has a seating area as well as a mini kitchen with (most importantly) a refrigerator and and ice maker. The pool is is great shape as well, with a fairly new liner and very comfortable chairs on the deck. The dock is also in extremely good shape. It looks like it will accommodate a boat with a fairly deep draft. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to have a boat docked there.
We cooked just about every night and ate in the dining area adjacent to the kitchen. There is a new 5 burner cooktop with a huge oven and a large prep area.
Our family has stayed at many places over the years. Never have I heard so many oohs and ahhs about a place as I heard during the week we were there. We hated to leave and can't wait to get back."

"I booked Marina Sunset for a week with my Mom, she's mid 70's, my self and my 2 boys, 11 and 16. The cottage was perfect for us. Plenty of room, outdoor space and the view from the 2nd floor deck is spectacular. Glenda and Jim were there to greet us and once we settled in we felt as if we had the place to ourselves. We rented a golf cart for the week and it was great. We drove all around the community, to the store, beach, dinner. It was very convenient and fun driving it around. Everyone waves at you too! The cottage comes with bikes, which my sons and i used a few times. Jim also provided us with fishing poles, tackle and a net for fishing and crabbing on their neighbors dock. We even caught a few. The cottage is so cutely decorated and super comfy beds and couches. Kitchen fully equipped for cooking in and BBQ grill outside also. We took a day trip to Fredericksburg and we had a great time. Lots of things to do at Colonial Beach and surrounding areas with in an hours drive or less. Im hoping to go back again in the future with my husband in tow. It would be a nice romantic getaway or another great family vacation destination. I recommend staying at Marina sunset. Its everything and more.
Thanks Glenda and Jim, we loved our vacation!"

We had a BLAST!! Perfect place for couples, families, and boaters!!
"My husband and I ran away for 3 nights and 4 days. No Kids! We had a great time. We brought the boat with us, the boat ramp was very nice, and easy. The covered slips were too nice, making us now want one. We caught crab right off the slip. Awesome day trip to Tangier Island and we had a blast fishing every day. Took the boat to the "Mad Crab" one evening and enjoyed the BEST mahi and crab legs EVER. We spent every night sitting on the wooden porch swing , and we enjoyed sitting in the beautiful gazebo in the early evening. Had breakfast and coffee outside in the "courtyard" right next to cabin every morning. Captain Billy can tell you all his great fishing spots too! We have stayed in many cabins around the MD/VA area and this cabin was by far our favorite one. Very clean, anything you need is there, and very roomy. The loft is perfect for kids and we can't wait to come back in a couple weeks this time with our kids. Great place to sit in the gazebo relax while kids play volleyball, ride bikes, beautiful brick/stone fire pit for making s'mores, and crabbing and fishing from the seawall. This place would be super awesome for a family gathering or just two families wanting to have separate cabins and lots of fun! I can't see anyone not having fun here!!"
