"This was our second stay at this house in Deltaville and we just love it there! We had room at the dock for our small sailboat and our John boat, and it's simple to get out to the Piankatank River. There's a nice fish cleaning station on the dock too! The house has everything we need, including a very well equipped kitchen, nice towels and sheets. The deck has wonderful views of the Creek and is shaded on one end or the other for a good part of the day. We spent most of our time there. This is a great house for two couples, or a couple with a few kids. It's private and peaceful, and very comfortable. We hope to return next year."

"We had such a wonderful vacation at this cottage. This was our first time in the area and going solely off of pictures. It turned out this cottage was beyond our expectations. The location on the bay was breathtaking!
The cottage was actually larger than we needed for a family of 4, so we were able to spread out and not feel confined. When we were inside we stayed in the LV overlooking the bay. My husband and I also slept in the bedroom overlooking the bay. We left the blinds open and woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise. Our kids loved the bunk beds and shared the room despite having other rooms available. The kitchen was small but sufficient for me to cook most of our meals.
Our private beach was fantastic! There was plenty of space for our family to spread out with all of our stuff. We left our things on the beach all week, since no one could walk by and bother it. In the mornings the water seemed slightly chilly but once you got wet, you didn't think twice about it. In the evenings the water was as warm as bath water. The water was calm with no normal bay "fishy" smell. It was a sandy bottom with no seaweed. You could see the bottom. There were tons of small fish and crabs. I thought my kids might be worried that they were there, but they loved when we pointed them out. I can't say how far we went out, but there was a series of buoys in the water and we walked till the last one. The deepest the water got was about 4 ft. It was perfect for our kids (age 5 & 7) to play in. We had floats to lounge on and boogie boards to play with.
Out further you could see boats go by and one overcast morning we saw a pod of dolphins jumping and playing. There was a public beach 2 houses down, but it was not crowed and we barely saw our neighbors. It felt like our own island.
There is not much to do in the area, except for boating or kayaking. During the week most restaurants weren't open so we went to the Food Lion and cooked at home. We also drove to Gwynn's Island one day for fresh crabs.
The only thing to make our stay better would have been to have wifi. While we didn't need it, it would have been nice to check our emails at night. We drove to the library one day to check our accounts and make sure everything was ok.
Our family loved our time here and we would definitely come back in the future. We would love to kayak in the area one day. There were some private beaches near the lighthouse that you need to kayak too. It looked really cool."

"5 stars are really not enough. Bill and family go above and beyond -- they don't just rent the home (clean linens, kitchen with utensils, cable TVs, Internet, canoe, kayaks, bikes, fishing rods, etc.)... they want to be sure you enjoy your stay. We caught fish, kayaked, cooked outside by the fire, lay in the hammock... you can keep kids of all ages busy for days without having to go anywhere."
