"We rented the house for my children and the grandkids so that we could be in Mathews for my niece's wedding. Everyone loved the place. The views, setting, and amenities were all just what we needed. My 9 year old grandson can't stop talking about the crabbing, and my son-in-law wants us to all come back."

"This cottage is so roomy. 2 Spacious living rooms. It has everything you could ever need in the kitchen! The views are amazing. It's great to have a beach right in front of the house. We made a fire in the pit Sunday night . As we sat around the fire we were lucky to see fireworks across the water. 2 different displays ! Great, great weekend ! We will defiantly rent this cottage again!"

"We are a group of 8 women who meet annually in locations around the world. Our choice this year was the Chesapeake Bay area and boy were we lucky to find this house. It is beautifully appointed but it's also very homey. The beds were like clouds. The kitchen was equipped for cooking. The property is right on the river and offers spectacular views and sunsets. It was an easy drive to Jamestown and Williamsburg and there were really good restaurants and wineries nearby too.
The owner was available and made sure that all our needs were met. We had such a good time! What a gem!!"

"Our eight-person family recently had the pleasure of spending a week at beautiful Grandview Manor. I'm not sure that my vocabulary possesses the proper superlatives to describe this place, but I will try. A lot of times, you look at sites like this, read the glowing description, commit to rent the place, then get there and you get a lot of disappointment because it is nothing like that description. Not the case with Grandview Manor, though. From the moment we arrived amidst the blooming Crepe Myrtle trees, we were struck by the vast area of well-manicured landscaping surrounding the house. As we toured the house and the pool/tennis court area and saw how clean and well-maintained everything was, it became abundantly clear that the owners really care about their customers. The attention to detail is impressive. The huge first floor master suite on the pool side of the house can best be described as opulent. The master suite on the other side of the house is extremely large and well-appointed. The 2nd floor enclosed porch overlooking the water is memorable.
Outside, the tennis court plays very well. It has a high fence. (So very little chasing after errant balls). The pool house has a seating area as well as a mini kitchen with (most importantly) a refrigerator and and ice maker. The pool is is great shape as well, with a fairly new liner and very comfortable chairs on the deck. The dock is also in extremely good shape. It looks like it will accommodate a boat with a fairly deep draft. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to have a boat docked there.
We cooked just about every night and ate in the dining area adjacent to the kitchen. There is a new 5 burner cooktop with a huge oven and a large prep area.
Our family has stayed at many places over the years. Never have I heard so many oohs and ahhs about a place as I heard during the week we were there. We hated to leave and can't wait to get back."
