"We were a party from England of 6 adults and 5 children visiting Virginia for my nieces wedding at Tides Inn.
Pop Castle was perfect for us all . It was just like a visit to a friends house with everything you want in place.
We hosted an English tea party for the wedding guests , many of whom had come from Portland Oregon.
All of us have taken away wonderful memories of a comfortable family house with great views.
The swing will be remembered by children of all ages .
Thank you for sharing your home and making these memories possible"

"We had such a wonderful vacation at this cottage. This was our first time in the area and going solely off of pictures. It turned out this cottage was beyond our expectations. The location on the bay was breathtaking!
The cottage was actually larger than we needed for a family of 4, so we were able to spread out and not feel confined. When we were inside we stayed in the LV overlooking the bay. My husband and I also slept in the bedroom overlooking the bay. We left the blinds open and woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise. Our kids loved the bunk beds and shared the room despite having other rooms available. The kitchen was small but sufficient for me to cook most of our meals.
Our private beach was fantastic! There was plenty of space for our family to spread out with all of our stuff. We left our things on the beach all week, since no one could walk by and bother it. In the mornings the water seemed slightly chilly but once you got wet, you didn't think twice about it. In the evenings the water was as warm as bath water. The water was calm with no normal bay "fishy" smell. It was a sandy bottom with no seaweed. You could see the bottom. There were tons of small fish and crabs. I thought my kids might be worried that they were there, but they loved when we pointed them out. I can't say how far we went out, but there was a series of buoys in the water and we walked till the last one. The deepest the water got was about 4 ft. It was perfect for our kids (age 5 & 7) to play in. We had floats to lounge on and boogie boards to play with.
Out further you could see boats go by and one overcast morning we saw a pod of dolphins jumping and playing. There was a public beach 2 houses down, but it was not crowed and we barely saw our neighbors. It felt like our own island.
There is not much to do in the area, except for boating or kayaking. During the week most restaurants weren't open so we went to the Food Lion and cooked at home. We also drove to Gwynn's Island one day for fresh crabs.
The only thing to make our stay better would have been to have wifi. While we didn't need it, it would have been nice to check our emails at night. We drove to the library one day to check our accounts and make sure everything was ok.
Our family loved our time here and we would definitely come back in the future. We would love to kayak in the area one day. There were some private beaches near the lighthouse that you need to kayak too. It looked really cool."

"My husband and I wanted a low-key/local getaway to celebrate our one year anniversary before our cruise that we were taking in August. I was looking for a place that would allow us an opportunity to relax, not have eat out every meal, visit some vineyards, and bring the dogs. This house scored on all four counts! It is absolutely adorable, with the cutest rooms! The location is amazing - it is in a nice little development, right on the golf course. My husband was so content to just relax in the huge, screened in back porch with a glass of wine, the dogs, and watch the golf course.
The house is close to about four vineyards and a couple of good places to eat. This is also the perfect place for dogs. If it hadn't been 100 degrees that weekend, we definitely would have brought them to the vineyards with us! Instead they were content on staying in the house and laying on the cool wood floors.
I was also happy to see that the kitchen was stocked with supplies, there were plenty of DVDs, and there was satellite tv and wifi. And despite the extreme heat, the house was very cool. And to top it off, the owners were extremely responsive and easy to work with.
Everything was absolutely wonderful at this house and I would definitely come back! I am keeping this location on my wish list!"

"This was our first visit to the area and we were pleasantly surprised with the property. It's a good sized house with plenty of bathrooms, a big kitchen, nice screened porch with great views of the water. If all you're looking for is a house on the water - this is it. If you're more interested in lots of local activities then you may want to head a little further south."
