"Our stay at the Pinnacle provided everything we needed for our golfing weekend. Check in was easy, just a quick stop at the gate to get the guest pass and then easy access to the house via the lock box. We found the house to be very nicely decorated as well as clean and well equipped. It was great to be on the first hole of the Nicholas course which made walking back and forth to the club a pleasure. Dining out was easy too, we could walk back to the club for dinner or take a short drive to nearby restaurants. All and all a terrific weekend and a wonderful place to stay. Should we plan another golf weekend at Bay Creek the Pinnacle would be my first choice, and I would highly recommend it to all."

"the worse part of a large family stay is that you tend to forget things. the Cheriton kitchen is so well equipped that you don't have to worry about bringing coffee filters or a wine opener - they have a great selection of coffee mugs, pots and all the things you might need for your stay! The place is neat and well-kept and the mattresses are very comfortable and of the newer generation."

"Those sunsets, though! Two mountain farmers were charmed by this house, this bay, this town. We felt immediately at home and relaxed - with absolutely no warm up period. The house is a classic craft style with all the warm, wooden and windowed character you'd expect and then some. The location was perfect - easy walk to the beach and town. It was amazing how quickly we found the rhythm of this place. We met Mary at the museum and were thrilled to learn of about her childhood and also the crater that hit at Cape Charles 25 million years ago like a thumbprint from space. We speak of this place in whispers - a secret between us. ;)"

"Rented Heron House for about a week with my wife, baby daughter and dog. It's about a 10 min. walk to the beach, which is beautiful by the way. Soft sand, clean and not crowded. The waves are pretty mild, so boogie boarding might a challenge. We didn't see many lifeguards and weren't hassled for having our dog on the beach after 9 am (no dogs between 9 am and 9 pm).
"Downtown" Cape Charles is basically one street with a coffee shop, ice cream place, pub, jewelry/home furnishing shops and realtors. That's about a 10-min walk from the house too. A little further away is The Shanty, a nice but informal seafood place with really good food. For a more formal/expensive meal there's the Oyster Farm in the other direction. In all, there isn't a whole lot in the neighborhood but what's there is good.
The house itself was clean, comfortable and well stocked with most of what you might need for a week other than food. Everything worked well (stove, A/C, washer/drier, wifi, clothes washer/drier, etc.) so no complaints there."
