  • Cute and Comfortable Home

"We were more than pleased with our stay in this home. Comfortable, quiet, lovely view and feels like it's away from it all but is just a short bike ride to downtown and 10 minute drive to the beach and many points of interest. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. The home was light-filled and casual and had a family-friendly layout. We loved dining on the screened porch. Wifi worked great, enjoyed browsing the book collection, and there were plenty of spare pillows and blankets. The dishwasher and clothes dryer were finicky but workable. We would be happy to stay here again."

  • Sunset Delight

"Our family enjoyed a wonderful week in Chincoteague and Captain's Quarters. Bonnie's vacation home provided a beautiful and comfortable "home base" for us. It's got everything you will need for a great vacation. We loved having our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the bay, and the sunsets were a spiritual experience :) It's two weeks later and I'm still returning there in my mind; better yet, I hope to return in person. Highly recommend Captain's Quarters for a delightful get-away."

  • First Rate!

"Unplugged is a wonderful property on the beautiful island of Chincoteague. We spent Pony Penning Week there with our family of six adults and three children, ages ranging from 1 to 71 years old! We enjoyed the week in this wonderful house tremendously. The house has every amenity you need - bicycles, beach toys and chairs, crab pots and traps, and even a kayak - to make the most of your time outside. It also has plenty of games, puzzles, and comfy couches for napping and relaxing on Island time. The kitchen is easy to use and has every appliance we needed for fantastic family meals. (There's a wonderful produce place on Church Street, half a mile away, for fresh fruit and veggies. And His and Hers on Maddox sells live crabs and incredibly fresh seafood that satisfied even our incredible appetite for good seafood.) Even without the famous ponies, there is plenty to do and see. We couldn't fit it all in. The property is within walking distance to Main Street for strolls in and out of all the cute shops. It's within short biking distance (a couple of miles) from Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge Center and Assateague Islands where there are lovely trails to walk, hike, and bike and beautiful, uncrowded beaches (compared to the Jersey shore) to spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and kite flying. Plus the wildlife is amazing. My children, ages 7 and 10, had a wonderful time. They earned their junior park ranger badges and patches at the two National Park/Wildlife Refuge Centers, biked to their hearts' content, fished and crabbed for the first time (Jimmy at Captain Steve's Tackle Shop is super friendly and encouraging), and thoroughly enjoyed being unplugged. The owners, Greg and Susan, couldn't have been more friendly or more accommodating. They answered our many questions and gave first rate recommendations. The house is in fantastic shape - just right for a week along the Eastern shore."

  • Beautiful house, amazing views, great location

"This house is beautiful and is in a great location with fantastic views. The kitchen is really nice and updated and almost all the furniture is comfortable and nice too. We loved the dock and overall the house is great. BUT the kitchen has barely anything stocked, no steamer, cookie trays, stuff like that. There were rusty items in the kitchen as well, the coffee maker was in horrible shape too. The deck, which is fairly good size overlooking the amazing view HAS NO CHAIRS what good is having a deck WITH NO CHAIRS? We had to drag our beach chairs back and forth from our car to the deck! And the screened in porch is tiny and can barely fit 4 people and the door when opened blocks almost half the screened porch. The dock has absolutely no seating either so be aware if you want to go down by the dock and enjoy the view, you will be bringing a chair with you. A bunch of doors are old and annoying/hard to open and close. The washer didn't even fill up half way with water so you can't fill it too much when washing. Love island getaways and from all the great reviews it seemed great, I think the owners need to actually take a look at the house they own. Happily this didn't effect our vacation at all and had an awesome time as usual, but for my family who has been coming to chincoteague and renting houses for 15 years, this was disappointing."
