  • AMAZING

"We needed a perfect home set up away from home and close to the beach - needed to accommodate our family and dog, as well as extended family meeting us from up North. This was PERFECT in every way. From the cozy living room - well set up kitchen - spacious rooms - and delightful back screened porch. We LOVED the outdoor shower for the kids coming back from the beach!! I will send anyone I know to enjoy this. ALSO - loved that we could walk to fishing areas, coffee shop, tourist shopping, and food. Bills restaurant rocked our world for a Birthday dinner. Make a reservation and ENJOY!!! :)"

  • First Rate!

"Unplugged is a wonderful property on the beautiful island of Chincoteague. We spent Pony Penning Week there with our family of six adults and three children, ages ranging from 1 to 71 years old! We enjoyed the week in this wonderful house tremendously. The house has every amenity you need - bicycles, beach toys and chairs, crab pots and traps, and even a kayak - to make the most of your time outside. It also has plenty of games, puzzles, and comfy couches for napping and relaxing on Island time. The kitchen is easy to use and has every appliance we needed for fantastic family meals. (There's a wonderful produce place on Church Street, half a mile away, for fresh fruit and veggies. And His and Hers on Maddox sells live crabs and incredibly fresh seafood that satisfied even our incredible appetite for good seafood.) Even without the famous ponies, there is plenty to do and see. We couldn't fit it all in. The property is within walking distance to Main Street for strolls in and out of all the cute shops. It's within short biking distance (a couple of miles) from Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge Center and Assateague Islands where there are lovely trails to walk, hike, and bike and beautiful, uncrowded beaches (compared to the Jersey shore) to spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and kite flying. Plus the wildlife is amazing. My children, ages 7 and 10, had a wonderful time. They earned their junior park ranger badges and patches at the two National Park/Wildlife Refuge Centers, biked to their hearts' content, fished and crabbed for the first time (Jimmy at Captain Steve's Tackle Shop is super friendly and encouraging), and thoroughly enjoyed being unplugged. The owners, Greg and Susan, couldn't have been more friendly or more accommodating. They answered our many questions and gave first rate recommendations. The house is in fantastic shape - just right for a week along the Eastern shore."

  • Peaceful retreat

"We stayed at the Spinnaker to celebrate our birthday/anniversary. We were not disappointed. The house is a quaint and peaceful getaway. The views are absolutely gorgeous and it was difficult to pack up and leave. The owner, Pat is so easy to work with and has thought of everything! Every time we thought we forgot something we looked and there it was. They did a great job of anticipating everything you might need. Although our timing did not allow us the opportunity to take advantage of all the island has to offer - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spinnaker and plan to return. We did take advantage of the crab traps (totally new experience for me). We were able to catch a few crabs and really enjoyed them. If you'd rather not cook, the restaurants on the island are fabulous- best seafood we ever had. Your stay at the Spinnaker will not disappoint!"

  • Pony Swim Week

"The Sandpiper House is a great place to stay for a family vacation. It is spacious and has everything you need. There are chairs, boogie boards, sand toys and umbrellas for your day at the beach. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a charcoal grill. The back deck is big has plenty of seating and is a nice place to sit in the mornings and listen to the crows. I sat on the front porch and watched my girls ride their bikes. McDonald's, Bike Depot, Museum, Assateague Wildlife Refuge, Family Dollar Store, Steve's Market and Pony Tails (candy store) within very easy walking distance. We also walked to the Crab Shack on Maddox for dinner. Master bedroom and bath have been recently renovated. The other two bedrooms worked great for our girls. They shared the twin room. The main bathroom has an updated sink and toilet but could use a sprucing up. Does have stairs to front door and side entrance which we used as our main entrance. Loved the outdoor shower. It looked brand new. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood. The Sandpiper House made a great home away from home. Would definitely stay hear again."
