  • Fishing Weekend that We'll Remember

"I took a group of 6 guys down to this property in May 2015 for a long weekend of fishing. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was private, offered great kayak fishing right out the back door and was very convenient to Onancock and the surrounding area. We caught over a dozen rock fish within an easy paddle of the property, not to mention the blue fish, croakers and crabs also caught. The view and surrounding area are beautiful. If you're like me and enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle, this place is for you. Quite--all you hear is the water, birds and wind. The owner, Mike, is extremely responsive and helpful. He really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was pleasant. He even let me bring the dog, who enjoyed the trip as much as we did. If you want to get away, check out Onancock or stay in a private place on the water, this is the spot for you."

  • Great for families and birdwatchers!

"We had a lovely stay at this house and highly recommend it. It is a great layout for families and it was nice having a first floor bedroom/bathroom so my in-laws had their own space. My husband and I were upstairs in the master bedroom, and our two children were also upstairs and had their own bathroom too. Plenty of space for everyone and every bedroom has it's own balcony/deck! We used the upstairs loft area as a play area for the kids, so they had a place for their books, toys and activities. Great views- especially if you enjoy sunsets and birdwatching! It was great to eat on the screen-in porch, but having indoor option that sat 6 people was important since the mornings were still chilly. This house isn't walk distance to town, but you could bike in- we just drove. The peaceful/secluded setting was worth the trade-off. Owners were very responsive and helpful. No complaints and would definitely stay their again!"

  • Wonderful Vacation and Home

"We rented this beautiful house for a week this past summer and had one of our best vacations we can remember. Cape Charles is very quaint place. Like stepping back in time. Played some great golf at Bay Creek, spend time on the beach that is one block from the home, and shopped at the many little shops in town. This house was perfect. Very clean and well appointed. The location was perfect. You can walk to the water, shopping and dining. We will be definitely be renting this home again next year."

  • First Rate!

"Unplugged is a wonderful property on the beautiful island of Chincoteague. We spent Pony Penning Week there with our family of six adults and three children, ages ranging from 1 to 71 years old! We enjoyed the week in this wonderful house tremendously. The house has every amenity you need - bicycles, beach toys and chairs, crab pots and traps, and even a kayak - to make the most of your time outside. It also has plenty of games, puzzles, and comfy couches for napping and relaxing on Island time. The kitchen is easy to use and has every appliance we needed for fantastic family meals. (There's a wonderful produce place on Church Street, half a mile away, for fresh fruit and veggies. And His and Hers on Maddox sells live crabs and incredibly fresh seafood that satisfied even our incredible appetite for good seafood.) Even without the famous ponies, there is plenty to do and see. We couldn't fit it all in. The property is within walking distance to Main Street for strolls in and out of all the cute shops. It's within short biking distance (a couple of miles) from Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge Center and Assateague Islands where there are lovely trails to walk, hike, and bike and beautiful, uncrowded beaches (compared to the Jersey shore) to spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and kite flying. Plus the wildlife is amazing. My children, ages 7 and 10, had a wonderful time. They earned their junior park ranger badges and patches at the two National Park/Wildlife Refuge Centers, biked to their hearts' content, fished and crabbed for the first time (Jimmy at Captain Steve's Tackle Shop is super friendly and encouraging), and thoroughly enjoyed being unplugged. The owners, Greg and Susan, couldn't have been more friendly or more accommodating. They answered our many questions and gave first rate recommendations. The house is in fantastic shape - just right for a week along the Eastern shore."
