  • Relaxing & Wonderful Views

"We stayed here in September and the weather was great. The house was very well equipped, clean & comfortable, and the sunset views over the bay very relaxing. The island was quiet but had enough shops and restaurants open."

  • Tranquil hideaway on the cozy island of Chincoteague

"My husband and I rented the Island Bliss in June 2014. The pictures on here don't do it justice. Affordable, clean, well appointed rental with plenty of book reading areas - on the front porch, living room, the sun room, the back deck next to the pool. The pool was a popular hang out for us. The house is sizeable, we didn't even need to use the upstairs. Couple tips - bring an HDMI cord to hook your laptop up to the tv to watch Netflix. We brought our own kayaks - if you paddle the opposite direction of the lighthouse, you'll see the ponies. Tip: the mosquitos in the hiking areas on Assateague are --immune-- to bug spray. The beach there is quite nice though. Bathroom facilities, close parking and the bugs are not a bother by the ocean. Daisy Cruises offers luxury pontoon boat tours to see the dolphins and ponies and we took the Fish Tales 2-hour fishing trip and caught a shark! Island Creamery has some to die for ice cream. And downtown, there is a ton of art shopping available. We had plenty of relaxation time and activities to do on the island. The house made for a perfect basecamp."

  • Most Relaxing Vacation I Can Remember

"We usually stay in Chincoteague but this year I wanted something a bit different. I worried about the isolated location, but in the end my family (husband and 2 teenagers) raved about my choice of Silver Beach Cove. We had spectacular weather..mild temps, cool bay or sea breezes, plenty of sunshine, every day perfect. We enjoyed the kayak and canoe, the sandbar at the end of the cove (never quite made it across the creek, the wind was too strong). We enjoyed biking the county lanes using all four of the charmingly functional old bikes. Corn and soybeans planted everywhere took me back to my Indiana childhood! We did a trip to a barrier island out of Wachapreague Inn Daytrippers. Had fun beach combing and ocean swimming. Bring bug spray if you visit the sea side. Another day was spent touring historic towns of Onancock and Cape Charles. Two afternoons were spent at Assateague beach and wildlife preserve. I have never seen a better stocked vacation home. We played 3 of the many, many games and laughed our socks off. I was never sure if our rental allowed us access to the nearby Silver Beach community beach, so we didn't try it, but we did bike over to check out the sunsets a few evenings. Anyway, we much prefer ocean to bayside swimming. El Maguey texmex and Exmore diner were our favorite restaurants too, and we liked them better than Aqua in Cape Charles which was 3x the price...Thanks to the The Smiths for making their lovely home available to renters!"

  • Great Home

"I stayed here in there Summer of 2012 with my wife and 2 children (6yr,2yr). We Had a great time!! The house was clean and the furnishings very comfortable. It was within walking distance to the beach and Main st. It was our first stay in Cape Charles, and we found it to be very Family friendly. The beach there was perfect for small children. We found Cape Charles to be small and quiet, not much going on after dark. Kellys Pub was by far are favorite place to eat, check it out short walk from the house. We also enjoyed eating at Aqua at the Bay Creek Resort. When we return to Cape Charles we will without question stay at Poshcasa. The owners were friendly and easy to work with, Thanks again for letting us stay in your home!! Matt from PA"
