  • James River House

"Loved our stay at the James River House! Great natural setting above a private beach! We were in the area to see Williamsburg, but the cottage was the highlight of our trip. My two teen sons loved the kayaks and spent most of their time fishing for blue catfish and hunting for shark teeth (and listening to me when I would get excited over a bald eagle sighting!). The path down could be difficult for some (my knees definitely felt it!), but it was a beautiful walk with a nice bench for morning coffee. Nice firepitmade our evenings! The house itself is well cozy and inviting - loved all the games and books, we took advantage of a lot of them!! Having some newer appliances and a very clean, well maintained bathroom was a welcome sight, sometimes you don't know with a rental what you will get, but the James River House was great! We also really appreciate that is is dog friendly. Our golden retriever loved the beach and hanging out with us by the fire. Thank you for a great vacation!"

  • Perfect for Wheelchair users

"Our family of 5 with 6 friends had a wonderful stay in this home, and the accessability made all the difference. Our oldest, 23, has used a manual wheelchair for the past 10 years. And as you may have guessed, wheelchairs and beaches do not mix to well. But this home and location made all the difference. The elevator makes this big house accomidating for EVERYONE!! Little things like a concrete driveway, no frontdoor threshold step and roll-in shower makes this a new family fav. We called the local beach chair rental store and they delivered and picked up a BEACH WHEELCHAIR that allowed for all of us to grab a book and enjoy the beach. Never again will we stay anywhere else when coming to the beach!"

  • Great Family Vacation

"We had a very nice time at this vacation home in Virginia! We visited Williamsburg, Jamestown, Virginia Beach, the Virginia Children's Museum, and went to a Naval Tour and Museum while visiting. All were about an hour or less from the home. The pool is above ground and not heated but very nice and large. The hostess is very kind and helpful! I am not sure where the hot tub was in this home that is listed. The home was very clean and well worth the money! For our family of 7 we had plenty of room. Thanks for the great time!!"

  • Great weekend getaway

"My girlfriend and I travel a lot and are always looking for new places to escape from it all and we found this little piece of heaven. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with and the staff at the resort was very friendly upon our arrival. I recommend this condo for anyone who wants to get away from their busy everyday life and wants to take in some sightseeing and relaxation."
