"I have been coming to stay here for years. It has none of the shiny, flashy, cheap appeal that many beach houses strive to flaunt. Instead it's all about comfort, homeliness, friendliness, and sheer delight. Every detail has been meticulously thought through, from the graduated cutting boards to the little hooks that will hold back the cords of the blinds; absolutely everything is clean, workable, and thoughtfully provided so as to maximize the joy and comfort of guests. My favorite spaces are the porches: two of them glassed in, on ground floor and upper floor levels, and one of them screened, where you can gently sway on the porch swing, hear the breeze and mockingbirds, and smell the gardenias. Because of the vacant dune-covered lot next door, you enjoy a sense of privacy and nature. Getting to the ocean is a short walk over the dune and there is the ocean-- or in bad weather, you can sit on the upstairs porch and see the whole panorama. This is perhaps the cleanest house you've ever seen. Wherever you want to set down your drink, there is a coaster. Wherever you want to sit, there is a chair and a hassock. The mattresses are firm and smooth, the air conditioning effective, the bathrooms large and spotless. This is a place where you step back into an imagined past, unpretentious and ideal, where relaxation and family can take center stage. All distractions or irritants are banished. It's an oasis. Fabulous."

Centrally located, close to the beach and a grocery store
"We stayed in this unit with a couple of small children and it was great for our needs. The beach is five minutes away (walking) and Harris Teeter is even closer. With small children the proximity of everything was the best aspect of this unit. The unit was clean, albeit some things were a tad dated. This is likely on par with other units in the price range/location."

"We had a fantastic week at the beach. The main house was spacious and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The little carriage house was amazingly roomy. The pool and hot tub were perfectly maintained. They even had pool service during the week. We called the owner once during our stay with a question (not a problem or issue) and she returned our call immediately. We used the large grocery store once, but were able to get everything we needed at the market right in Sandbridge-easy walk from the house. The donuts at the market are a must!
The golfers in the group recommend Virginia Beach National, paddleboarding was a big hit as was the boardwalk and a boat trip in Norfolk - the most fun everyone agreed was hanging out a the pool. Phrase of the week for the adults "This is why we work". We will definitely be back!"
