  • we stayed a week at condo would recommend if touring dc

"We stayed a week at condo- and we had a car. Parking was plentiful. View at night was spectacular! We travelled to Franconia-Springfield metro - plenty of parking and you were going against I395 traffic which is a major plus! You can catch the blue line there, yellow line during rush hrs and transfer to any other line. Condo was clean but dated."

  • Cute Retreat

"My husband and two teenage daughters recently enjoyed our stay in this home. Not only was it well appointed but it was extremely clean with a well stocked linen closet. Nothing was overlooked including the scented candle! It was within an easy 15 walk to the Metro. We also used a local cab company and they arrived both times within 10 minutes. Everything was modern, tasteful and it worked! I would much rather stay in a home like this than a hotel room. I also appreciated how quiet it was. If our travels bring us back around the Washington area I would book this home again!"

  • THE PLACE TO STAY!

"My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Cottage. We wanted a nice getaway for the weekend to see the sights of DC and experience Old Town Alexandria. We had never tried staying at places other than a hotel. LUCKY US to have found 'The Cottage'. The Cottage offers more than a hotel, along with comfort and convenience. We were sold on the kitchen...a full kitchen and a beautiful walk-out patio. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE COTTAGE! We will be back. Thanks, Jack"

  • Great place for a family get-together

"We spent four wonderful weeks in this home. Some of that time included another adult couple (family) and there is plenty of room for that. Consequently, this place would suit families with teenaged or younger children. People who have difficulties with stairs would be best looking elsewhere as most of the accommodation is on the second floor. The kitchen/dining area has magical views across the Potomac and is perfect for catching the sunrise. The kitchen is well equipped - we were even able to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for four (Canadian Thanksgiving, that is). Heating and cooling are quite efficient although I'm not sure about the bathroom in the winter which does not appear to have its own register. Location is perfect for Old Town Alexandria and its shops and restaurants - all walking distance. There is a grocery store just two blocks away for most of the basics. Getting to DC couldn't be easier via the King Street Trolley (free) and the Metro. The only minor downside was the frustratingly erratic Internet connection - but that is really minor in comparison to the rest. Suzanne and Levin were very responsive to our occasional questions and provided fresh flowers, sparkling wine and fruit upon our arrival. Very much recommended!"
