  • A Cozy Get Away

"We stayed as a couple for a couple days in the pond suite in the wintertime. One beautiful day to hike Old Rag and a rainy day to visit the wineries and local life. It's a really nice get away. Practically everything you need is there. The animals are all around, chickens, goats, horses and all, making it quite peaceful. Enjoyed the fireplaces and the wood supply. A couple finer points, like almost everything you need is there, but then some things aren't like, dish washing liquid or sugar, which we didn't think to bring. And the chickens lay eggs every day but you have to buy them if you want them. For the overall cost per night, it would just be nice to be able to say everything is there that you need and you can almost say that. But it's 99% there so it's not a deal breaker, just nice touches that would be appreciated. Also a lot of rules about leaving. Do this, do that, start a load of towels or sheets. We left it very clean and did all that, but felt like usually you only do all this when staying with friends, and friends don't really charge you do they. But this is all sounding too negative when overall, you get a wonderful setting, beautiful views and great attractions close by. We had a wonderful time and are maybe more critical than we should be. To each there own. We would stay there again for sure."

  • Exactly what we wanted! Close to everything * Comfortable * High End Location

"We LOVED our stay! There were five of us - three adults, and two kids (ages 10 and 13). We had more than enough room for everyone. I was AMAZED by the size of the property. I thought we'd be squeezing into a tiny space, but was wrong! The apartment is nice and roomy - a nice big living room, fully kitchen, dining area, large bedrooms, big bathrooms, plenty of storage, and a nice balcony! The balcony overlooks a park where we went for runs, played on the playground, watched a local soccer game, etc. Walk out the backdoor and right into Nordstroms! Walk one minute more and arrive at the metro. We took the metro all over because it was so convenient. The food options are many - food court at the mall, casual restaurants literally across the street, small diverse cafes around the corner. I even did some grocery shopping by walking to Harris Teeter. I'm trying to think of anything that I wish had been different, but I can't think of anything! Staying here was like having the comfort of home with the excitement and luxury of vacationing in a big city. JUST RIGHT! We'll recommend the property to friends and hope to be back ourselves!"

  • Comfortable Stay - Recommended

"Our family stayed at Bear Creek Farm for one month this summer. Bob and Lee were great hosts - fresh eggs and wine were waiting for us in the fridge on arrival and the house was spotless. The house is very comfortable and spacious and well-equipped - we found everything we needed in the kitchen and there were lots of cleaning supplies on hand which is always nice for a long stay. The beds were all extremely comfortable. The location is nice and quiet, and near a trial head into the Shenandoah National Park. We enjoyed watching the variety of birds around the house, especially the hummingbirds, and Shorty, the friendly neighborhood dog who came to visit often. We can highly recommend this house. Thanks Bob and Lee - hope to see you next summer!"

  • Above the City with Convenience

"This property was above the city and conveniently located at a major metro bus stop so getting to and from Washington DC was easy. There was parking available, and the view of the city was really nice. The condo was clean and cozy, yet spacious with a balcony. The mirrors made the condo feel that much more open and spacious."
