"We are a family of four (4) ... two children and we were very reluctant to stay somewhere other than an Hotel. Did we ever LUCK OUT! Jack's Cottage is so clean; comfortable; and inviting. My wife and I slept upstairs, while our two boys slept downstairs. We all LOVED it. The outside Patio and garden is just beautiful. At night, we grilled on the Gas Grill, while soft lights lit the patio area. NO MOSQUITOS!!!! We were in awe. Hats off to Jack for baking Chocolate Chip Cookies for our children. Again, VERY COMFORTABLE/CLEAN/WELCOMING accommodations. Thank you, Jack."

"We stayed with 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 13 years) a total of 10 days at Richards Condo and enjoyed our vacation very much. Being close to the interstate 395 and Route 7 gave us the opportunity to reach everything (from the Great Falls or Mount Vernon to Downtown D.C.) in no time. There is a Safeway and a little shopping Mall few minutes drive away, but also a little store close by provides everything you need urgently. The spectacular view by day and night towards THE MALL in DC was a real treat. Parking place was very generously provided and we truly enjoyed the nice swimming pool in the afternoon. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to provide hot and cold meals and we made good use of that. It is a perfect place to stay and explore the metropolitain area and return whenever you feel to a place you can call "home away from home"."

"My wife and 6-week old daughter stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. It is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood close to everything in Washington, DC and walking distance to the quaint neighborhood of Shirlington, where there are plenty of restaurants and a grocery store. It has 2 bedrooms but also a very comfortable window "bed" that can serve as a bed. I would highly recommend renting a bike and biking around the DC area as the 4 Mile Run and Mt. Vernon paved trails are easily accessible to the house. Feri is also very accommodating as we had arrived an hour earlier than expected and she was able to drop everything and meet us at the house within 10 minutes of calling her. Could not recommend this house more!"

"My husband and I visited with our two dogs. The owner Lee took great care to ensure we had everything we needed to be comfortable for our vacation even leaving coffee, fresh eggs, wine and chocolates for us.
The house is very clean and spacious with a really nice master bathroom. Towels, sheets etc. were all provided and of a high quality and spotless. There is also a large collection of DVDs, several large TVs, comfy chairs for reading and a hot tub where you can star gaze and relax your muscles after a hike. This is definitely the rental if you want to get away from it all and relax. Also if you like wildlife, this is the rental for you! So many butterflies, humming birds, deer, all kinds of birds, rabbits and the local cows. We stayed for a week so we went out nightly to different restaurants in the area. We enjoyed several excellent meals. There are also many wineries nearby if you are into wine.
For us, the highlight was that this rental is perfect for dogs as we have two medium sized dogs. There is a large tiled utility room for dog food and water and even a dog door. Our dogs usually don't settle well in new places but after 1 night at the cabin, they were happy and relaxed. It helps that there is a great (and challenging) hiking trail nearby and an alternative fire road which is a bit less steep to tire them out. But the dogs really enjoyed the large grassy yard and the freedom to safely run around.
I would definitely recommend this rental and plan to return myself later in fall."
