"Came to DC area for wedding and a little sightseeing. We arrived late in the evening during a down pour of rain and was greeted by the housekeeper with a very big, much needed umbrella. Thank You so much for the help! The cottage is charming and well furnished in all rooms (coffee, spices, bath soap etc.) Had the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in with a rental. Coffee on the porch reminded us of home. Would recommend cutting the bushes in front of porch to see the pretty landscaping better. The gardens and birds are pleasant to look at. Even with my very bad knees, was able to handle the stairs for the middle of the night run to the down stairs bathroom. A low light fixture at least at the bottom of the stairs would be helpful. We left a light on for my safety. We did enjoy the short visits with Jim and Lisa who where busy with their own weddings to attend. As they told us, Mt. Vernon is a must to see if you like history. Highly recommend this cozy, charming cottage for small groups. Metro Rail is surely the way into DC and very close to this cottage."

"We had a wonderful weekend stay in the Milk Cottage located on the Weather Lea Farm property. It was the perfect autumn weekend to enjoy the lovely foliage. The Baldwins have a created a beautiful paradise in Lovettsville with the rolling hillside farm adorned with an impressive vineyard, sheep, llamas, and event barn upgraded for all types of activities.
The cottage was very comfortable and stocked with everything you need, including a nice selection of breakfast items. The peace and quiet were only interrupted with crickets and birds. The location is great for visits to historic civil war sites, Purcellville, old town Leesburg, and local Virginia wineries.
The cottage is stocked with books and videos for inside entertainment and brochures for outside local activities and great restaurant recommendations."

"My fiance stayed at The Cottage for the last week in October 2015. We can't say enough about how perfect this place was and how accommodating Jack is. My dad decided to stay with us at the last minute, and Jack was so flexible and made us feel totally welcome. The Cottage is adorable, and the kitchen is perfect for what we needed. The neighborhood is quaint, safe and it was a quick 15 minute walk to the Metro. The cute backyard was beautiful, and we would have loved to have spent more time out there but the sightseeing wore us out each day!
We'd love to go back next year and would highly recommend The Cottage to anyone wanting to travel to the area. Thank you Jack for an amazing week in a beautiful place!"

"Our family just spent a glorious week at Cardinal Springs. The setting is so beautiful....at every time of day. Andrea and Steve are wonderful hosts. I followed Andrea around like a puppy and she, kindly, answered all my questions regarding guinea fowl and their chicks. We were fortunate to spend a few days in the farmhouse and the barn loft. We couldn't decide which was more perfect. The farm animals are all so friendly. Those mules are as playful as puppies. And the chickens were very patient as we searched for their eggs..a high point was holding the chickens....they seemed to enjoy it as much as I did! We are already planning our next trip."
