"Wow. The Play Garden in early spring: there never was such a sweet place, clad in the fragrance and soft beauty of mid-April in the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Valley. It was cold when we arrived. No matter. We felt warm and loved. We watched as winter was shed a little more each day, and wild flowers bloomed and trees greened. There was much to do around the neighborhood, and we especially enjoyed several visits to Art at the Mill (Burwell-Morgan Mill in nearby Millwood). Old and new friends joined us during our ten-day stay, and they promptly fell in love with The Play Garden. Who can blame them? We will return."

"We spent there a very cold winter month. The apartment is so bright that the days we had to stay inside due to real bad weather, it was still very enjoyable. Originally from Newbury Park, California, we are used to warm weather, so having a Whole Food Market across the street was one of the assets we really appreciated. All other ammenities mentioned in the add were there, everything worked, and it was a great place to spend our time in the Washington area."

"Lovely cottage that is situated in a beautiful setting on a lifestyle farm near Leesburg. Less than an hour away from DC and near to several wineries, some quite good. The owner is friendly, accommodating and approachable. When she learned that we wanted to do an outdoor barbecue, she organized that we could do it. We will visit again. Although it is advertised for three people, it is best for two people, and a younger third person as the third bed is a bit short. We had dinner at a recommended pizza restaurant nearby which was great fun and good quality. Wears visited several wineries in the area of which Doukenie and Hiddencroft was the best."

"Came to DC area for wedding and a little sightseeing. We arrived late in the evening during a down pour of rain and was greeted by the housekeeper with a very big, much needed umbrella. Thank You so much for the help! The cottage is charming and well furnished in all rooms (coffee, spices, bath soap etc.) Had the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in with a rental. Coffee on the porch reminded us of home. Would recommend cutting the bushes in front of porch to see the pretty landscaping better. The gardens and birds are pleasant to look at. Even with my very bad knees, was able to handle the stairs for the middle of the night run to the down stairs bathroom. A low light fixture at least at the bottom of the stairs would be helpful. We left a light on for my safety. We did enjoy the short visits with Jim and Lisa who where busy with their own weddings to attend. As they told us, Mt. Vernon is a must to see if you like history. Highly recommend this cozy, charming cottage for small groups. Metro Rail is surely the way into DC and very close to this cottage."
