  • Family Reunion

"My family gathered in this pretty cottage for a winter reunion. It was comfortable, nicely located and well equipped. We will definitely be back for a warm weather gathering this Spring."

  • Charming!

"My husband and I were able to get away for the weekend just the two of us and we had the privilege of staying here. We had a fabulous weekend! The house is charming, quaint, clean and convenient. It is beautifully renovated with respect to its historic roots. It was great to wake up to a nice light breakfast of bagels, fresh orange juice, milk and granola in the fridge. Barbara was wonderful to work with! We'd love to go back!"

  • Wonderful

"We had a wonderful stay in this house. We were with 3 couples from the Netherlands. It was an amazing house in a wonderful setting. If we had the opportunity, we certainly would rent this house again."

  • What a place!

"Wow. The Play Garden in early spring: there never was such a sweet place, clad in the fragrance and soft beauty of mid-April in the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Valley. It was cold when we arrived. No matter. We felt warm and loved. We watched as winter was shed a little more each day, and wild flowers bloomed and trees greened. There was much to do around the neighborhood, and we especially enjoyed several visits to Art at the Mill (Burwell-Morgan Mill in nearby Millwood). Old and new friends joined us during our ten-day stay, and they promptly fell in love with The Play Garden. Who can blame them? We will return."
