"My husband, 8 year old son and I loved our stay at the Cottage. After a few days in the Dupont Circle we were ready for a relaxing change. And the cottage did the trick. The neighborhood is adorable and safe. The cottage is impeccably clean. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a 5 course dinner. And there were 2 televisions, which was nice to give my son a break in his own space downstairs. The bed upstairs is super comfy and my son said the same for the high quality air mattress on the bottom floor. The first thing we did when we arrived was a load of laundry and sit on the beautiful patio with a glass of wine, definitely a luxury. While you will be in walking distance from the metro and the trolley for King Street we were happy we rented a car for this half of our trip. It appeared to be doable, but we were done. After spending days walking around DC we were ready for a break. Alexandria is lovely and we easily filled up a few days. The history is fascinating and great for children. Ghost tours, George Washingtons house, historic churches and cemeteries, apothecary museum, beautiful waterfront, art galleries in the the Torpedo Factory and restaurants galore.
Please take note, as Jack mentions the cottage is small. However it was the perfect size for my family of 3."

"My wife and I recently stayed at this property for a little over a week. It is a convenient location to DC just a few minutes away by car. The property is nicely furnished and has 3 A/C which was very important during the summer. The bathroom was recently remodeled and the size of the property is sufficient for 2 to 4 people. The drawbacks were a very limited TV/Cable offering, only one TV in the living room and a the kitchen lacked some cutlery. Overall it was a good experience."

"We had a delightful visit to Front Royal for a nearby wedding. "The Nest" was the perfect comfortable home away from home for the 2 of us (although the house has 3 BR), tucked into a tranquil forested hill. Lee is the consummate hostess, leaving us thorough information about the house/community, wine/snacks in the frig, and an open invitation to enjoy their lovely property. Very clean and well-furnished with all you need. Location is near north entry to Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park where we enjoyed hiking."
