  • The most thoughtful home ever!

"This home is so well thought out in every way possible. Ray and Barbara are always available for any questions/problems. The organization of material is amazing! We had an issue with the internet service and Barbara left no stone unturned to get the issue resolved. The kitchen was well appointed and a continental breakfast was provided which isn't the case in many vrbo properties. Barbara anticipates every need, such a warm wonderful home for a get together. The location was central to the.town of Sperryville and Ray and Barbara make sure you are aware of any events/specials. Recommendations for every single thing are right at your fingertip in the house."

  • Perfect little home away from home

"My family of 4 (kids age 8 and 11) stayed at this precious little condo for a week while we toured DC. It was the perfect little home away from home. For such small square-footage, this condo felt much larger. The lay-out is great, with excellent storage space. It was a perfect space for the 4 of us to be able to spread out and enjoy our time. Everything was clean, well stocked, safe... we just loved it! And the neighborhood was just gorgeous and all the neighbors so friendly and helpful! The only issues we had here (which is in no way to the fault of the condo) was trying to figure out the buses. One day we had to leave really early, and the bus did not come according to schedule. One evening, we were to be out very late and the buses stopped servicing our area at 8. Simple fix, thanks to the advice of other reviewers here, was to drive to Capitol Mall, pay about $14 to park for the whole day, and take the metro rail in to the city. This VRBO definitely goes on my "favorites" list and if we ever decide to return, this is the place for us!"

  • Home Away From Home

"Staying at the Hunt Box was perfect for our family of 4. The house was clean, extremely well-equipped, tastefully decorated, and in a beautiful pastoral location surrounded by gardens, fields, and horses, donkeys, cows, even a goat. Our boys loved the farm and the animals. We loved the quiet and the comfort the house provided. Karen really did think of everything and made us feel welcome and at home. She left us a beautiful welcome note and a gift bag filled with yummy goodies. The refrigerator was also stocked with milk, eggs, juice, and bread so we had everything we needed for breakfast in the morning. I would highly recommend this house to anyone."

  • Comfortable, well provided townhouse with good location

"The landlords have done a great job of providing a comfortable and well-stocked townhouse in a convenient North Alexandria location. It provides three good sleeping spaces. The appliances are good quality and fully updated. It served our needs perfectly and we would certainly put the townhouse at the top of our list for places to stay in coming summers, as our work takes us to Washington regularly. A comment on location: It is not terribly walkable, with the closest stores a 7-11 and grocery store just over 10 minutes walk down Glebe. Metro access: There is easily available, free three hour parking along Commonwealth, so we parked within two blocks of the King Street metro and then walked to the station. Room for improvement: For those who require a dark sleeping space (me!) the blinds in the master bedroom let in a considerable amount of light. Further, some lamps were not working in the second bedroom. For lounging and entertaining, it would have been nice if the living room had more comfortable sofas."
