"highly recommend, would stay again, excellent communication from owner. Our group of 5 adults stayed for a long weekend and made wind ridge our home base for wine country 1/2 marathon. We all had plenty of room, the well appointed kitchen was great for meal prep; location made the trip in and out of DC easy. Wegmans is nearby and a great supermarket for provisions. The house is better than the pictures can relate, very relaxing secluded woodland setting."

"We spent there a very cold winter month. The apartment is so bright that the days we had to stay inside due to real bad weather, it was still very enjoyable. Originally from Newbury Park, California, we are used to warm weather, so having a Whole Food Market across the street was one of the assets we really appreciated. All other ammenities mentioned in the add were there, everything worked, and it was a great place to spend our time in the Washington area."

"What an excellent weekend! A large group of us were in need of a place to stay for a wedding at Rixey Manor. Fancy Fox farm was the perfect solution. It was closer (and better!) than any hotel. Mrs. B even did a drive by of the venue to make sure we had the best route planned to get back and forth. She met us on arrival and had everything set up for us that we could have gotten by the first night without having to go in to town for supplies if needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens to go around. The kitchen was fully outfitted with any appliance/utensil you could possibly need. There is plenty of space indoors for day guests. We were able to visit with other out of town guests without having to be crammed into a hotel room. Weather kept us indoors for most of our stay so we didn’t get to do too much exploring around the property. We did get the opportunity though to see the horses. Stellar experience! We had a bag of apples to take along. We were met at the stable and given instructions while they brought in the horses. Not only did we get to feed them and interact with them – they even took one out for a short demo and did some small jumps for us. This was one of the highlights of our trip. If we ever need to travel back to this area this would be the only place we would stay. Many thanks from the group for such a wonderful experience!"

"This home was the perfect place for our five women mini-college-reunion. It was an easy and short drive for four from DC and National Airport, and not too far for one North Carolinian. The house is immaculate, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with all the equipment you'd need for cooking or baking. The view of the water from the screened in porch and the main eating / living rooms was beautiful. Even though it rained most of the weekend we were very happy to be in this lovely home, and did not venture out but for short walks in the nice neighborhood and by the lovely lake."
