  • Excellent Getaway

"This was the second annual weekend getaway for the group of mid-20 year old college buddies scattered throughout the state. This trip included a bachelor party twist. We spent most of our time out on the shooting range and enjoyed all the outdoor space the farm had to offer. The owners are welcoming and willing to allow us to have our space, all while being available to help with any request. Truly a remote location away from any sort of busyness that comes with every day life. This is a great spot for all ages and we will certainly be back in the future. Thanks again!"

  • Enchanting environmental escape

"My family including our puppy cannot say enough wonderful things about staying at Cardinal Springs. The location is superb for exploring the Shenandoah National Park, wineries and breweries, great restaurant or for just relaxing. We were able to do all this on a wintry long weekend. Reading books by the fire while enjoying the view after a leisurely walk was one day's activities. Another day great brunch in nearby Washington and then a quick hike in the Shenandoah. Everything you need is provided for you luxuriously in these accommodations. The view, again, is spectacular and communing with all forms of nature really brings one back to earth after the hectic life so many of us live. We will be definitely going back!"

  • Wonderful experience

"This property inside and out was beautiful. We had plenty of room for our family of four (three adults and one 16-year-old). Beds were super comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. Screened in porch was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. Beautiful backyard to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. Jim and Lisa were super friendly and helpful, the perfects hosts. Short, easy drive to Washington DC. I highly recommend Granny's Cottage!"

  • Perfect for our visit!

"We stayed a week in Peyton's charming cottage in The Plains while we came to town to visit our families. The location was ideal for us, but even better, the cottage was a warm and welcoming place for us to return to every evening. Peyton has decorated it with every thoughtful detail in mind, and we loved her use of fabrics to create a delightful space (no surprise, given that she runs a home decorating shop next door!). It really felt like a home-away-from-home for us. The Plains is our favorite town in the area, with three outstanding restaurants just around the corner, though it was wonderful to have a kitchen in the cottage so we could prepare our own breakfast. We will look forward to returning!!"
