  • Our Magical Engagement Romantic Getaway

"My fiance and I had the most perfect romantic getaway the day following our engagement! It is hard to express with the limitations of words, but Terye (who manages the cabin) really provided a top notch experience that brought us to tears. I would definitely recommend experiencing this exquisite place in order to grow closer to loved ones, families, and friends. I must give all of the credit to Terye for creating the most amazing atmosphere. She was incredibly fun and perfect to work with in regards to setting up all of the details for my engagement getaway. She brought so much experience, wisdom and joy in helping me put together the perfect home away from home. Here are some of the details (and for this romantic engagement event, Terye was all about the details!). Down to the desired light color set in the hot tub, Terye had candles lit, flowers, rose peddle trails placed throughout the cabin, champagne, a personally made cake (incredible baker I must add!!), lights dimmed to set the romantic mood, sweet music playing, strategically placed balloons and a congratulatory banner displayed... we were brought to tears. All of this doesn't include Terye's incredible cooking. We ate like royalty! Terye provided us feasts for our stay and hand delivered them hot to our beautifully set dinner table. We had king crab legs, steak, twice baked potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, more steak, delicious green beans, crab stuff mushrooms, s'mores desert (brilliant!), and a chocolate peanut butter muse cake all cooked/baked to perfection!! I can't say enough about how wonderfully she blessed my fiance and me and truly made our stay Magical. We didn't have one worry our whole stay. We also took advantage of the nicely groomed walking trail created around the property. We are incredibly grateful and appreciative of her and the awesome immensities that both she and this cabin offers. Do I need any further explanation?... We will be back! You must experience this for yourself! Thank you, Terye, and we are looking forward to setting up our next future stay!!"

  • Away from it all

"My family was looking for a place to get away from it all and enjoy some quality time together. We absolutely found it at Olde Surber. We were amazed at how clean and all the extras Olde Surber provided. The well stocked and labeled cabinets made cooking a breeze. Each night we sat in the parlor playing cards and listening to the radio. In the morning my husband and I enjoyed various hikes from the property, two of which are the swinging bridge and the trestle bridge, while the 3 teens slept in. Once everyone was up and fed tubing commenced. We especially loved launching from the fishing spot right across from the driveway and tubing for almost 2 hours and getting out at the swinging bridge. The walk back to the cabin on the creek was only 20 minutes. Our family was amazed at the amount of stars we could see in the evening as we roasted our marshmallows. You couldn't ask for anymore amenities then Olde Surber provides. Hiking, fishing, tubing, cornhole, 2 firepits, lots of wildlife, and a warm comfy home. Thank you for sharing your property with us."

  • Nice little weekend away

"The schoolhouse is a nice little home in the middle of the country, but a short (10 minute) drive to the closest town. We enjoyed our time at the schoolhouse, but were on the go most of the time we were in town. We spent most of our time in Natural Bridge enjoying the Safari Park, Zoo and Natural Bridge itself. It appears that a black widow has taken residence in the window outside the AC unit in the living room, so please be careful when you remove. I forgot to leave a note when we left on the counter about this. I will say I am not positive, but I believe there might be a spirit/ghost in the house. The first night, I thought my 16 yrd old daughter walk by the room as I saw a young girl throught the door jam go by, but come to find out she was in the living room still watching tv. The owners were great and answered any questions I had beforehand and were flexible with us arriving early. Thank you!"
