  • Embrace Winter with this Chalet

"we love love this chalet! so comfortable in every way, from the burning fireplace to cozy tv/ ping pong room downstairs. the division of bedrooms was nice, with kids' rooms on main level and master suite upstairs. Angela is the perfect host, welcoming us with a bottle of wine, providing linens/towels and allowing pets -- all w/out any extra fees! the house has some basic supplies, but glad we bought cooking oil and extra toilet paper :) we cooked all our meals- can seat up to 10 ppl (at dining table and kitchen bar). house is located about a mile fm Bryce but on steep hills, on snowy days, 4X4 is way to go. we ski-ed and tubed all wkend, then headed to house to warm up w/some hot chocolate- perfect way to enjoy winter!"

  • Pleasant stay in a pre-Civil War farmhouse

"We stayed here with friends for a 3 day college reunion. I hate motels and their crowds, thus Rose Hill was a pleasant alternative, only 4 miles from Lexington's city limits. You will be thoroughly briefed on how to find the house and how to respect its idiosyncracies. Nonetheless I would recommend you first arrive before dark. A 5 minute slow speed drive from Rt 11 will bring you to the house and you may see wild turkeys and deer enroute. There are notes posted everywhere to help make the house work for you. Having lived in an historic residence for 30 years, I appreciated their being there. The kitchen is modernized, making in house breakfasts a breeze. I entertained 25 classmates and family in a spacious gallery with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. My guests were wow'ed. The bedrooms are upstairs; there is one bathroom upstairs, one downstairs. For family this is a none issue; otherwise, don't forget to pack a robe. If you're adventurous and appreciate sampling historic residences, you will enjoy your stay at Rose Hill."

  • Beautiful early spring getaway

"We've been to lots of Homeaway properties and this one was top-notch. Immaculate, beautiful views, nice hot tub. Cabin was cozy & comfortable with gas fireplace and open living room-kitchen. Close to Luray & Shenandoah N.P. The weather was a little cold to hang out by the river when we were there in late March - early April but there's a nice area with outdoor furniture and we'd like to come back and spend some time by the river too. Great place!"
