"Our group of 3 couples rented this house for a weekend in Feb and the property was a perfect fit. The bedrooms were all extremely comfortable and offered us the privacy we wanted, while the kitchen, dining room, and other living spaces were great for hanging out. The owner has done a fantastic job restoring the property - tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. The location of the property was also excellent - we never had to fight for parking when going to dinner or breakfast. Everything, including W&L, was within walking distance. Definitely the best rental in Lex. I look forward to booking again the next time I visit."

"We rented this house for our daughter's 1st birthday party. It was very clean and had a lot of room to celebrate my little girls party. We had such a great time with family coming for all over. It provided us with the comforts of home and the coziness of a retreat. I will always remember how warm it made us feel walking into this house. Fumiko is a great individual who made sure my Lil Girl had a splendid time on her first Birthday. She was very helpful and understanding with all my questions and concerns. Thank you fior letting us rent your lovely home and hopefully we will be renting again from you. Appreciations from all who came out!!!"

"My husband and I and our Cocker Spaniels rented this cottage for a week at the end of August. The location was fabulous. Days spent hiking the Shenandoah National Park along Skyline Drive. Words cannot describe the beauty of this area. Also, hours spent sitting on our tubes in front of the cottage. Jan was kind enough one day to drop us off with our tubes so we could float down the river to our cottage. It was heavenly. Jan and John go out of their way to ensure you have a fabulous vacation and we surely did. Also, there was an issue with the water pressure, which they addressed and fixed immediately. We cannot say enough positive things about this property and area. Our dogs were able to run free in the large yard. Being from Baltimore, this was fabulous to watch them play off the leash with their balls and also be able to swim, which was a complete surprise when one day our dog jumped in behind us. I would recommend this vacation property to anyone and we will definitely be coming back next year. The firepit was also a great way to end a perfect day each of the 7 nights we were there."

"This was our 3rd one week stay at Gooney Lodge over a 4-year period, and, as always, a fantastic and memorable experience. It isn't often that one gets to stay in such a historic, exceptionally maintained vacation property. The owners and their caretakers make every effort to ensure that your stay is both trouble free, and delightful. From the home baked muffins upon our arrival to the thoughtful collection of memorabilia about the lodge and the area, we can't say enough about how enjoyable our stays have been. There is something for all ages, whether it's wading in Gooney Creek, playing croquet, or simply relaxing on the amply furnished porch while soaking in the beautiful fauna & wildlife. We truly feel privileged to have stayed at this extremely well maintained, and picturesque home. We highly recommend going horseback riding at Royal Horseshoe Farm, taking in the Front Royal Civil War Museum, and, of course, Shenandoah National Park, all of which are short drives away. Our only regret is having to wait four years for our next child to graduate from Christendom College to stay here again!"
