"My husband and I spent a week at the Chalet in August and loved it!! It is relaxing, peaceful, and a great place to have a vacation. The mountain view was awesome and waking up to the sunrise every morning was incredible. We enjoyed sitting in the screened-in porch every morning having our coffee. This cabin has every comfort you could imagine, including a flat screen t.v., central air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Sitting on the deck while staring at the mountain view was where we spent most of our time when at the cabin, and thoroughly enjoyed the 4-person Jacuzzi every night after a day of sight-seeing. This cabin is only about 15-20 minutes from Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive, but is your own private paradise nestled in the woods. What makes the Chalet really great are all of the little extras that the owners graciously provide that make the Chalet feel like home, including the homemade cookies that were a nice surprise and were delicious! We loved reading the Journals where past guests left messages and the photo book which shows the building of the Chalet. We would recommend the Chalet to anyone and have done so to all of our friends and family. We didn't want to leave, but will definitely be back!!"

"We had a great time at this Condo. The place was clean and large and our toddler loved walking around everywhere on the nice carpet. The kitchen was a good size for cooking and the fridge and freezer were large for holding supplies. There are lots of cooking equipment and supplies. In the mornings, there is a nice sunrise view of the mountains from the kitchen/living room/dining room/balcony. This unit is close to the parking, so packing and unpacking was quite easy. The master bathroom is super nice and updated. The bed and bedding was comfortable. We went in the summer and enjoyed some of the many nearby outdoor activities. There are many miles of nearby hiking trails that are well maintained. There are maps available for $3 in the visitor center. After hiking many of the nearby trails, we took a 30 minute trip to Crabtree Falls, which was a scenic hike. We also took advantage of the passes for the pool/spa. I think it was $10 for each adult, even with the pass, but it actually ended up being well worth it. After you pay at the pool, you can come and go from the pool as you please all day. They have locker rooms, locks to use, sauna, hot tub, and lots of chairs to lay out in. We also took a 10 minute trip to nearby Devil's Backbone brewery - I highly recommend this brewery/restaurant.
Downsides of this unit: We brought white noise machines and the garbage truck still woke me up, so this might bother some. It didn't last long and I didn't have any other noise issues. Also, I remember there not being all that much toilet paper or paper towels. We had enough, but I think there were only like 2 rolls of TP in the place."

"We had a delightful visit to Front Royal for a nearby wedding. "The Nest" was the perfect comfortable home away from home for the 2 of us (although the house has 3 BR), tucked into a tranquil forested hill. Lee is the consummate hostess, leaving us thorough information about the house/community, wine/snacks in the frig, and an open invitation to enjoy their lovely property. Very clean and well-furnished with all you need. Location is near north entry to Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park where we enjoyed hiking."
