  • A perfect reunion destination!

"Eight friends and I gathered here for the first time since the 1970's & we couldn't have found a better place to re-connect! The only time we left was to walk down the driveway to the next hilltop and back. The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed hanging out on the porches and chatting throughout our 3 night stay, as we had ALOT of catching up to do! This lodge fit our personalities to a T. We're not demanding or unrealistic, so a few stink bugs (outside) and a couple of dull knifes in the kitchen (as noted in previous posts) didn't hamper our good time. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and very relaxing. We enjoyed meeting the owners, who were attentive (but not intrusive). After our departure, our deposit was returned very quickly - in entirety. Thank you, Ed and Meshiel!"

  • A Comfortable Scenic Oasis

"We fell in love with the Falling Leaf cabin. It is a comfortable, scenic oasis. The cabin is quaint and the furnishings well appointed. It felt like home. It was an ideal setting to celebrate our recent engagement. I am sure we will be back soon."

  • Just as we imagined

"Great location - close to everything downtown, but far enough away to be quiet. Nicely decorated and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. Was also nice to have washer/dryer in unit so as not to return home with dirty clothes. Mgmt. was awesome and we were able to check in early upon our arrival and also returned communications promptly. Nothing extraordinary, but everything we needed. Will definitely come back again next time we're in Roanoke!"

  • Peaceful and serene getaway spot.

"We loved our stay at Rose Hill. The owners were attentive and easy to work with, both before and after our stay, and it is evident that they love this home and want to share it with those who can appreciate it. The website gives a good indication of what to expect. The house is old and historic, so it has some quirks that make it an interesting place to stay, but the bathrooms and kitchen are modern. The sunny back porch was a delightful place to sit and watch the cows, donkey, woodchucks, and the spectacular mountain landscape. The well-equipped kitchen is beautiful, with nice appliances and ample work and storage space. Rose Hill was a great home base for exploring nearby Lexington and Staunton, as well as having access to numerous hiking trails. The house was clean and well maintained. The house is very close to I-81, so the road noise is always in the background, but the serenity of the spot is a wonderful place to rejuvenate the spirit."
