"This house very good for my large family. We are 15 people, adults and children of all ages. We found the web site was an accurate description of Willow Haven. The floor plan allowed space for various activities at once. The kitchen was big enough for cooking and serving dinners. The one cupboard door needs correct repair. Its hinges are incorrectly aligned with the door opening. Other than that, the storage and refrigerator were ample. The bedrooms were comfortable.
The house and setting are charming. My daughter in law exclaimed in delight at the setting and house as we first drove up. The creek was fun to watch. The girls beat the boys at the number of fish caught.
Now to my complaint. We managed but another family might have been most upset. The bathtub adjoining the VMI and W&L rooms leaked badly; as per the sign on the bathtub the shower hose was not used. So it must be the bathtub plumbing that is leaking. It would also be good to have another shower on the Willow side of the house. One shower is not enough for our family.
Despite this one problem, I would rent the house again. Our family enjoyed their stay"

"The two of us loved our visit to Overlook Cabin. It is the essence of serenity and peace. There is nothing more calming and healthful than listening to the quiet. The cabin is cozy and warm and welcoming and, well....perfect. We intend to return. We encourage you to view the Blue Ridge Mountains in daylight and the sparkling vista of the Roanoke Valley at night. Regardless of from where you dwell, these images will bring you to a place called "home". Build a fire and embrace the warmth."

"The Gooney Lodge is the perfect quiet get away with its peaceful location but proximity to the amenities you may want. We felt at home from the minute we walked in and the homemade treats left for us only helped that feeling. The house is set up so that multiple couples and families are comfortable with lots of room to spread out and relax. At the house you can cozy up to the fire or sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the creek. There are lots of games to keep you entertained or you can browse through the various albums on the history of the lodge. There is a winery in walking distance, quaint Browntown just down the road, and the stores & restaurants of Front Royal nearby. You sit in the shadow of Shenandoah National Park and can hop on Skyline Drive in mere minutes. We will definitely be looking for another opportunity to visit this amazing place!"

"My wife and I stayed at the Chessie Trail Chalet for over a week and had a great time - we hated leaving. Sue and her husband are very nice and we enjoyed meeting them along with their two friendly dogs (two labs that we kinda adopted for the week). The chalet reminded us of staying in a mountain cabin. The chalet and smoke house was very clean upon our arrival and had everything we needed during our visit. Sue has kayaks, a canoe, and also bikes to use if you desire. We used the canoe on the Maury River (literally right across the road from the property) and hiked the Chessie Trail almost daily (easy acess to the trail is also right across the road). We had a great time and would certainly recommend this property to friends and would definitely stay here again!"
